Does this picture haunt you

As I did my workout today and thought about the prayer and fasting reminder that I just posted, my mind went to an entry I had read on Jill Stanek's website. I searched for the photo and wanted to post it. It comes from another website http://www.conversiondiary.com/2008/11/how-would-you-know.html

Worth your time to go there and view the short video. Then I started thinking about the similarities to the Holocaust of World War II and what is going on today with the assaults on the sanctity of human life. I remembered that for the most part Jewish people are pro choice. Once when I was at MTSU on an educational outreach I asked a Jewish young man protesting against us to explain it to me. He said that they teach that unitl the birth of the baby and it takes air in through their lungs (receives the breath from God as when God breathed breath into Adam) that it was not a person and did not have the rights of a person.I thought how sad that the Jewish people who know all about persecution would embrace the persecution and extinction of the pre born. Surely they know that the preborn breath not through their lungs but the umbilical cord.

How sad....but the point of posting this picture was that the young men and women enjoyed life while working and living all around the death camps at Auschwitz.....just as we ae working and laughing and enjoying life during our Holocaust.

Apathy is as deadly as violence

Every week a pro life volunteer writes a thought provoking and sometimes convicting prayer and fasting reminder. This week her entry was spot on.

Yesterday a youth pastor who, last month was determined to make a commitment to greater pro-life action in his county, called to say he was just “too busy” to do anything.
Today, I had an opportunity to talk with a college pastor who admitted that he “had never given much thought” to the reality that his students were on the front lines of the greatest holocaust in human history.
Yesterday an ardent pro-abortionist, Kathleen Sebellius, was confirmed and quickly sworn in as the Secretary of Health and Human Services, with very little objection raised to her income tax evasion and financial ties to a notorious late term abortionist.
Also this week urgent alerts went out across the state for pro-life people to contact legislators in Nashville urging the swift passage of a bill that will de-fund Planned Parenthood. Yet the bill continues to languish in a subcommittee, while Planned Parenthood rallies its lawyers and money to defeat it, because weak-willed legislators were getting most of their calls from Planned Parenthood advocates, not from passionate pro-lifers!
A wise pastor once wrote that “Apathy is as deadly as violence.” and truly this week we have seen the truth of it. The slaughtered innocents are just as dead whether those who stand by are pro-abortionists or “pro-lifers,” who are just too busy with other things to care.

20 weeks abortion

From my old alma mater.....they called for a contribution the other day and I told them I had informed them I would not contribute since they started a late term abortion mill. I wonder if the women in this video would go through with it if they saw the video ahead of time. The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform Southwest posted this rather video . And we are arguing about waterboarding......when we do this to children.

State Lawmakers now have full video...what will they do?

STATE LAWMAKERS CLASH WITH PLANNED PARENTHOOD OFFICIALS OVER UNDERCOVER FOOTAGE;

UNEDITED UNDERCOVER VIDEOS SUBMITTED TO TN LAW ENFORCEMENT

Contact: Kristina Hernandez, 703-683-5004

MEMPHIS, April 29--Following the release of undercover footage from a Memphis Planned Parenthood clinic, state lawmakers have introduced legislation that could divert taxpayer subsidies from Planned Parenthood in Tennessee. In response to Planned Parenthood of Greater Memphis Region's contesting the veracity of the footage, the group responsible for filming, Live Action, has sent the state Attorney General and Memphis District Attorney an unedited version for review.

Lila Rose, 20-year-old president of Live Action, says the unedited video further exposes Planned Parenthood's reckless counseling practices. When Lila, posing as a 14-year-old girl impregnated by a 31-year-old man, mentions, "My boyfriend said he could pay for everything--But he shouldn't come here to pay 'cause you'll see him, right?" the counselor replies, "It doesn't matter. As long as your parents are not here and can't identify him, he can just pay and that's it. He could be like your older brother or whatever." Tennessee law states that a minor must have parental consent before undergoing an abortion.

Rose commends the Tennessee state lawmakers, led by Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey and Sen. Jack Johnson, who have questioned the state's over $700,000 funding of Planned Parenthood. "Why would citizens tolerate paying the bills of an organization that protects statutory rapists and victimizes young girls? This is the sad result of the careless abortion-first mentality that has persisted at Planned Parenthood for decades."

On Monday, Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region CEO Barry Chase sent an email to state legislators asking them to stop the bill and claimed that Live Action's president, Lila Rose, refused to release the unedited footage, even though neither Rose nor Live Action received any correspondence from Mr. Chase.

"We have not received a request from Planned Parenthood for the raw footage, so their efforts to raise doubts about the validity of the tapes are made only to mislead," Rose said in response. "The typical last-ditch effort of Planned Parenthood is to wantonly suggest that the unedited tapes might prove them innocent. But to better illustrate the deliberate cover up of statutory rape and abuse by Planned Parenthood, we have made the entire video public."
This video is long but the sparks start at 2:30.

Live Action has also responded to the gross errors in Mr. Chase’s email to legislators. “It is all the more troubling to think that even a novice counselor at Planned Parenthood would know to recommend this law-evasion strategy. How prevalent must this evasion be at Planned Parenthood clinics when even the ‘interpreters’ are implicated?” states the letter.

See the letter here:

Live Action has released similar footage from five other clinics, located in Arizona and Indiana, as part of its Mona Lisa Project, which shows Planned Parenthood employees as they respond to reports of statutory rape and offer secret abortions.

Even the LA Times notes what is going on in TN. How will our state legislators respond?

Planned Parenthood in Memphis caught on tape in cover up

Every year our legislators give 1.1 million dollars in our tax money to Planned Parenthood. This undercover video vividly protrays why they should not get tax money but should be investigated for breaking the law to report incidents of statutory rape and coaching minors to lie to the judge in order to get around the parental consent laws. This should outrage all parents that this organization seeks to interfere with the parental relationship. They have a vested interest in this as it represents REPEAT BUSINESS! Lila Rose has done this sting operation in six clinics in three states with the same results. This is not a rogue counselor or an isolated incident...this is an agenda.

Scarce medical resources anyone?

This is chilling....anytime you start hearing the words "scarce medical resources" you are being conditioned for this.....physician assisted suicide and euthanasia will become more commonplace in the United States. Others deciding who receives medical care.....

WASHINGTON -- Unified theory of Obamaism, final installment:
In the service of his ultimate mission -- the leveling of social inequalities -- President Obama offers a tripartite social democratic agenda: nationalized health care, federalized education (ultimately guaranteed through college) and a cash-cow carbon tax (or its equivalent) to subsidize the other two.

He has an idea. But he dare not speak of it yet. He has only hinted. When asked in his March 24 news conference about the huge debt he's incurring, Obama spoke vaguely of "additional adjustments" that will be unfolding in future budgets.

Silent Witness

from jillstanek.com

Planned Parenthood Memphis caught covering up underage rape
UPDATE 4/21, 9:20a: I've been informed by someone at TN Right to Life of the irony of the following photo I posted yesterday. This was taken April 7, 2009, during Planned Parenthood's lobby day and posted on PP Greater Memphis Region's myspace page. The legislator at the desk is state Sen. Ophelia Ford (who was appointed to replace her brother John after he was indicted for accepting bribes and thrown in the slammer). The flowers on Ford's desk? TNRTL gave them to Ford, urging her to defend life. There they stand as silent witnesses...

Student Undercover Video Shows Tennessee Planned Parenthood Coaching 14-year-old To Lie About Age Of "Boyfriend"

Well here it is right in TN. This is no surprise to us as abortion industry makes a huge profit from abortion despite their claims to present all sides and options and get large sums of money from the taxpayers of TN under the guise of giving sex ed. type information out to women. Just like in a restaurant the server is trained to sell up and offer you add on items from the menu. The menu at PP always comes back to abortion ...the big enchilada !

So do you think our legislators should stand up and defund PP? I do. They make a very healthy profit on their own from selling abortions to scared girls/women. Why should we support them with our tax money.

Obama: Rescuing Dogs and Rending Babies

Written by Selwyn Duke from the New American

What a society talks about — and what it fails to — both speak volumes about it. And lately, the news has been replete with stories about the Obama’s new canine acquisition, a Portuguese water dog the first family has fittingly named Bo. Yet while the little curly-haired purebred is creating a tempest in a teapot — because Barack Obama said during the campaign that he intended to get a “rescued” dog, such as one from a shelter — few talk about a type of rescue to which Obama won’t even pay lip service.

Hear the moo?

Although I may not agree with everything he says here....I love the comment about denying the humanity of the unborn or as I prefer to say the preborn is like denying that the beef on your plate is a cow because you cannot hear the moo.
By Ed West Culture Wars
I was at a dinner party on Saturday when a friend brought up something I'd written about not funding abortion on demand through the NHS. You would have thought I'd said I didn't agree with mixed-race marriages or that date rape was OK, such was the reaction.
I'm not a hard-line anti-abortion campaigner. Given the state of public opinion, the best we can hope for at the moment is a compromise - but unrestricted access up to 24 weeks, paid for by the taxpayer, is not a compromise, it's a law drawn up by an ideologically-driven minority. Denying the humanity of a 20-week foetus is as unscientific and irrational as denying the beef on your plate is a cow because you can't hear it moo.
I also believe our abortion laws lead to increasing numbers of unwanted children, because it takes away responsibility from the father, and the 60,000 children now in care is almost as sad a figure as the 200,000 a year who don't make it that far.
Still, my friend argued: "You would say that, you're a Catholic". This is an old friend of mine, who knows that I stopped going to church when I was nine, and for 10 years after leaving school had absolutely no contact with religion whatsoever, and that during most of my adult life I've paid less attention to the Cardinal than I have to the leader of the Liberal Democrats, and that's saying something.
Even now that I've come back, I still disagree with the Church's view on homosexuality, which is nonsensical, unworkable and causes unnecessary hurt (although I can see why it can't change its mind); I disagree with its Baldwinesque policy towards third world dictatorship and its opposition to war at any cost; perhaps most of all I don't follow the English Catholic Church's lame concept of economics, which is slightly to the left of Jeremy Corbyn.
In fact, the reason I object to abortion is not because I've been indoctrinated by Christianity but because I fear that this life is all there is, in which case that's a pretty rotten deal for the unborn. Abortion is presented in this country as an issue only of interest to Catholics to Muslims, the most despised and most hated minorities in the country respectively – but the atheist and humanist argument is even stronger.
So why don't atheists give a damn for the unborn?

Pointers for those in TN running for Governor from Metro Pulse. com

After reading this I am not sure if he means to slam the Republicans or Democrats giving advice to the R's because the D's are competant at acting like humorless, pandering parrots. Oh well, the good news is that SJR 127 has risen as a standard in the debate and if you don't know what SJR 127 is, don't waste your time. I am a single issue voter and if they can't get that issue right I can rest assure I don't want them representing me on any issue. Some things are fundamental. I also like the way he says that even an abortionist who may run would claim to be pro life . He used the pronoun he but I would have said he/she since we do have at least one female running at this time. And cynical, yes because we have been lied to before.

Frank Talk
Pointers for Those in Tennessee's Governor's Race
Winning the governor’s race just takes discipline
By Frank Cagle
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
Due to the peculiarities of the Tennessee constitution, running for governor requires on-the-job training. Statewide candidates have never had any experience running statewide; there are no other statewide state offices.
So, as with most governors’ races, the Republican primary is populated by rookies. Neither Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam, Congressman Zach Wamp, Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, nor Shelby DA Bill Gibbons has run from Mountain City to Memphis.
Some advice about modern campaigning, accumulated from my experience and from various political operatives of my acquaintance:
Run an interstate campaign. The counties on either side of I-81, I-40, I-75, I-65 and I-24 contain the vast majority of the population of the state. This is no coincidence. The counties without access to an interstate, or at least a four-lane to it, are sparsely populated, have few good jobs, have lousy schools, and have miserable tax bases. They have no big contributors. You can forget about them. Every governor in Tennessee history has, both campaigning and governing, so why shouldn’t you? You need to run up and down the interstate, hit the population centers and the media markets. You can’t waste time going to Sneedville and Pall Mall. You’ll never have occasion to go see them after you’re elected, so why bother? These counties are only good for a photo-op in the event of a tornado. You also run the risk of getting lost.
Never say anything funny. You are not allowed to have a sense of humor. Sarcasm? Forget it. Irony is totally banished. If you doubt it, write it down, see what it looks like on the page. Newspapers don’t use funny face emoticons. It will come back to bite you.
There are certain special-interest groups that are one-issue voters. Unfortunately, they are cynical. You see, candidates always appeal to them and they have been lied to over and over again. In self defense, they have developed coded language, tortured syntax, and blood oaths with no wiggle room. For example: You don’t just say you are pro-life. If an abortionist ran for office in Tennessee, he would say he is pro-life. What they want to know is do you support SJR127. The only correct response from their point of view is yes. If you don’t know what SJR127 is, don’t waste your time.
When you crack the code for various special-interest groups (anti-income tax, guns, and abortion), work up a flat statement of your position that includes the code words, has reassuring verbiage, and is not open to interpretation. It need not have anything to do with how you really feel, but do not EVER alter the language on the position under any circumstances. I know it gets tiresome. After giving six speeches a day being asked the same questions you will be tempted to vary your response, mostly because you are boring yourself to death. Don’t. There will be hell to pay. Reporters have also listened to the same boring speech over and over again. If you change it it’s a story. You have changed your position. Hey, you think they want to write the same old boring story about your same old boring speech? Do not, under any circumstances, engage in conversation about issues. You are not a conversationalist, you are a parrot.
Don’t be surprised if you get ignored for months at a time. You get attention when you announce and for your first few fund-raisers. But the media moves on to other things. You will find at some point you can go to about any town and be unable to draw a crowd, much less a television camera. This has always been true, but it is especially true now that news organizations have drastically cut staffs. If you are going to say anything you hope to get coverage for, do it somewhere near the Capitol Hill press corps, or leak it to a blogger. Don’t worry, the press will show up again the last two weeks of the campaign.
So to summarize: In order to be elected you just need to run up and down the interstates being a humorless, pandering, parrot desperately seeking media attention.
Good luck.

Baby Announcement

You know as I watched Megyn Kelly do a report of George Tiller the infamous late term baby abortionist who is sometimes called Tiller the Baby Killer, she touched her stomach with a protective gesture. Body language! Here is her official announcement.

Palin bad because she attends pro life and special needs event out of state

Article from First Read.....MSNBC (we know how they lean...boy they hate Palin but reader makes a good comment in return....Palin won't take a position on bills?). Palin leaves the state to attend a Right to Life Dinner and an event for Special Needs Children and boy how they howl.....like there is no cell phone, email, text messaging to stay in touch??
From Reader Monkberry Moon.
That's a complaint? Obama NEVER took a position on ANYTHING except abortion. Nothing. Zero. Obviously the left only cares
when it's the other party, which really means they don't care. Zero. Nothing.

GOP watch: Palin to the Lower 48
Posted: Monday, April 13, 2009 9:13 AM by Domenico Montanaro Filed Under: Never beloved by her own state party, Sarah Palin is under attack from some in the state GOP again. "Among the Republicans' biggest complaints: Palin is disengaged from the legislative process," the Juneau Empire reports. "There have been multiple complaints that Palin administration officials won't take positions on bills, including any indication about whether the governor is likely to sign bills that make it through the process." "Palin herself will be leaving Alaska this week to attend the Vanderburgh County Right to Life dinner in Evansville, Ind. on Thursday, as well as an event for special-needs children. Fairbanks Republican Rep. Jay Ramras questioned her leaving town right at the end of the session, when critical decisions are being made," the Anchorage Daily News writes.

Healthy Wife wishes to die with ill spouse and gets her wish

Wife wants to die with ill spouse
Posted on Apr 14, 2009 by Staff
WASHINGTON (BP)--The Swiss assisted-suicide organization Dignitas plans to help a healthy woman die with her terminally ill husband, and a pro-life bioethics specialist says this development should have been expected.Ludwig Minelli, found of Zurich-based Dignitas, announced his plans to go to a Swiss court to seek permission to aid in the suicides of the Canadian couple, The Times of London reported April 2. Dignitas says it has assisted in the suicides of more
than 100 people from Britain, where the practice is illegal. The "marvelous opportunity" of suicide should not be reserved for the terminally ill or severely disabled, Minelli said, according to The Times. Anyone with "mental capacity" should be able to experience assisted suicide, he said."It is not a condition to have a terminal illness," Minelli was quoted as saying. "Terminal illness is a British obsession. As a human rights lawyer I am opposed to the idea of paternalism. We do not make decisions for other people."We should have a nicer attitude to suicide, saying suicide is a very good possibility to escape," he said.Bioethics specialist Wesley Smith said of this expansion of the assisted-suicide movement's pool of potential victims, "I don't know why anyone would be surprised by this story. "Assisted suicide advocacy rests on two fundamental ideological premises: First, that we own our bodies and it is the 'ultimate civil liberty' to decide on the time, manner and place of our own demise," Smith wrote on his weblog. "Second, that killing is an acceptable answer to the problem of human suffering. Once these values are accepted, preventing death on demand becomes logically unsustainable."--30--Compiled by Tom Strode, Washington bureau chief for Baptist Press.

I am a terrorist so I am told

From Health and Human Services Secretary to law enforcement....
Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

So today I hear that anyone who is pro life or as they say anti abortion needs to be watched by Homeland Security as a potential terrorist. So when I went to my early morning Kiwanis meeting (6:45 AM) where we voted to give money to a ministry helping orphans in Burma conscripted into service of death by War Lords and then to the hairdresser I looked over my shoulder lest I be followed on my daily terrorist duties. So I know many pro life or anti whatever and I hardly considered them dangerous......ones that get up early on Saturday morning to pray in front of one of the local abortion mills. Made a quick phone call to fellow terrorist Cinda to discuss our upcoming oratory contest but she was volunteering at the local pregnancy resource center (another hot bed of terrorist activities) so she couldn't help me find these evil people. So I did a search on the Internet. How could I forget: there is the jihad called 40 Days for Life where they pray in front of abortion mills....the gall! I found a video which I will post so you too can be on the lookout for such terrorists. If you recognize a friend or neighbor you can be forewarned that you may live near a terrorist! Hey, maybe they will post their addresses like sexual predators so we can pinpoint all of us.Watch the video at your own risk!

Fuzzy Math or Poor Memory?

HHS nominee Kathleen Sebelius misstates political contributions from controversial abortion doctor ....from thefoxnation.com

Oh Please! Is this a defense?

Notre Dame President Defends Obama Invitation
Rev. John Jenkins argues that only Catholics are bound by the rules of Catholics in political life, not Protestants like President Obama.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame's selection of President Barack Obama as its commencement speaker follows the "letter and spirit" of a statement passed by U.S. bishops in 2004 and cited frequently by critics as a reason Obama should not have been invited, the school's president says.
In a letter to trustees, the Rev. John Jenkins said university officials believe the statement, known as "Catholics in Political Life," refers specifically to honoring Catholics whose actions are not in accord with the church's moral principles. Obama is Protestant.
"This interpretation was supported by canon lawyers we consulted, who advised us that, by definition, only Catholics who implicitly recognize the authority of Church teaching can act in 'defiance' of it," Jenkins wrote in the letter last week. "Moreover, fellow university presidents have told me that their bishops have told them that in fact it is only Catholic politicians who are referred to in this document."
The letter was obtained by the Web site LifeSiteNews.com, which posted the text of the letter. University spokesman Dennis Brown confirmed to The Associated Press on Monday the letter was written to trustee members by Jenkins as a "private correspondence."

Three Star Banquet

Well surprise, surprise in the mail today. I got an invitation from the Tennessean to attend their annual three star banquet on May 8th. This is a banquet that everyone who has a three star letter (first letter published on a particular day) gets to attend. Then you each have the opportunity to stand up and say a one minute something from the microphone. Well last year I had a three star letter but no invitation to the banquet. Here is the one from this year that warranted an actual invitation...

Letters to the Editor: Don't misrepresent bill as a ban on abortion
March 26, 2009
·
To the Editor:
I am not surprised that The Tennessean would choose their highest readership day to lead with a three-star letter about abortion, just when Senate Joint Resolution 127 is slated to be debated on the Senate floor in two days.
The Tennessean has always acknowledged where they stand on the issue of abortion. However, this letter from a mother whose child died after three months of life with deformities not diagnosed has nothing to do with SJR 127, even though her reference to 2000 infers that it does. Banning abortion is not on the table. What is on the table is who gets to put regulations around abortion: non-elected activist judges or elected legislators answerable to the people?
Do informed consent, a 48-hour reflection period and mandating that late-term abortions be done in hospitals sound like abortion is being banned? Why does the abortion industry fight to withhold from the people of Tennessee the right to vote on this issue? We voted on the lottery and on the definition of marriage, but anything that slows down the abortion industry is off-limits?

Slip of the tongue...baby, no I mean fetus

What an interesting post from Feministing.com. When you ask a question that parallels a life question....they get all hung up and slip up and say baby. Whoops, did not mean to say baby.... look at the comment from the reader....

Death Penalty and Abortion
In a bioethics class I'm taking, we were talking about the death penalty, and the discussion progressed to include abortion. Someone raised the question: "If a woman on death row happened to get pregnant, should we still execute her?"I'm pro-choice, and support embryonic stem cell research. But, my gut instinct to the question was "No, of course you can't kill her baby!" Then I realized the inherent inconsistency there- in the other cases, I don't think of the embryo as a baby. I'm not sure how to rectify this. So, what do you think? What if the woman was 8 weeks pregnant? 8 months?Note: I'm against the death penalty in all cases, but that's another discussion entirely.

miki_mouse said:
I definitely agree that if a pregnant woman is killed, it is only one count of murder under the law, because a fetus does not have the same rights as a human being. That said, we do place some value on a fetus, and if that woman (on death row) wanted that baby to live, I don't think we have the right to kill her while she is still pregnant. Same as if we forced a woman to have an abortion, it is still wrong even though it is right if she wants the abortion. People wait for years on death row, I think it would be simple enough that if she wanted the baby to live, to just stay her execution for a couple months after she gives birth.

miki_mouse replied to miki_mouse :
I didn't really mean to call it a baby in the last sentence. I meant if she wanted the fetus to be born so it could turn into a baby, of course.

Of course!

Getting ready for oratory contest

Getting ready for the upcoming oratory contest....this excellent weekly post puts things in perspective......

For the last few years the majority of the competitors in our annual High School Pro-life Oratory contest have come from the classroom of a teacher in one of our Christian schools. Late last year she retired, but I was not too concerned. After all more than 70 teachers, principals and youth pastors along with dozens of parents had received advance information about the contest, and this year, in particular, after the ramped up attacks against life by the new administration, I was certain we would have great support for this project.
As a mother of past competitors, as a teacher and as Ed Director I have found few experiences that compare with the power this contest has to focus and equip students to stand up for life. No matter how well they do in the contest itself, the lessons they learn as they prepare and deliver their speeches will impact their entire lives. So it really grieved me, as the deadline came and went this year, that only one student had signed up to participate. It was especially hard when he informed me that he struggled with a “stuttering problem.”
It seemed bitterly ironic to me that, in this strongly “pro-life” metropolitan area filled with fine Christian schools and churches, in the midst of the greatest holocaust of all time, we could only find one young man willing to be involved……………and he had a stuttering problem!
Last night he arrived all alone for the contest, no parents or teachers or encouraging classmates were there for him, never-the-less he was a confident and winsome young man and, when he got up to speak, he had a wonderful presence at the podium. He did “struggle” a little with stuttering, but he never got flustered and he did a fine job presenting his speech on infanticide. Because there were no other competitors, our two judges: a young teacher, who is a former army officer and Iraq war veteran, and a local pro-life radio talk show host, both had time to give him personal feedback and encouragement on his presentation.
I can't help but think of the contrast between our new President with his fine speaking skills and our young orator last night, who struggled to deliver his pro-life speech. And next month, when our ardently pro-abortion President with his fine oratorical skills, is honored at the University of Notre Dame, I and many other pro-life Catholics across this nation will feel nothing but humiliation, but when our young oratory winner goes off to Nashville for the state wide contest, we can all feel proud that such a courageous young man represents us…even if he does stutter. Please include in your prayer and fasting this week those graduating seniors and their families at Notre Dame as they discern how God would have them respond.
In Him for life,
Chris

Link between induced abortion and breast cancer

This is the reason I won't support breast cancer charities such as Race for the Cure that deny and actually cover up the link between induced abortion and breast cancer. I have heard Dr. Brind present his findings and they are indisputable.

What Hollywood knows

This is showing my age but I remember this movie and being a disappointment after all the hype. I don't recall this particular scene but it is pretty moving. Hollywood, I understand has remade this movie and does not portray abortion in this way at all. No surprise but watch this scene from the original movie. I understand the remake distorts this.....

What I heard yesterday at Pro Life Women's Day on the Hill

Yesterday I heard a sad testimony from Eileen Smith now of Orlando, Fl whose 22 year old daughter died having a legal abortion in MA in 2207. One of the striking things was that this doctor who she said was once a Harvard Fellow operated on her with only a receptionist and a hand holder in the "clinic." This points out that decent doctors are not in the abortion business. Another striking part of her testimony is that following her death on his abortion table, he called the ambulance to take away her body and proceeded into the next room to perform the next abortion.....wow, talk about the culture of death.
Another point she made was that she was as an active and involved Christian she started thinking about when had she heard the message from the pulpit about abortion.......she hadn't. Convicting, huh?

Women Are Not Delicate Little Flowers Despite What NARAL and Planned Parenthood Think

Interesting article from a pro choice feminist……. She is almost there.
I love how she affirms that the scientific evidence is on our side and how her training at a local crisis pregnancy center dispelled some of her erroneous thinking....

KIRSTEN POWERS: Women Are Not Delicate Little Flowers Despite What NARAL and Planned Parenthood Think

The organization NARAL Pro Choice America blasted Virginia’s Governor Tim Kaine — the chairman of the Democratic National Committee — on Tuesday for signing a bill that, NARAL says, includes state funding for crisis pregnancy centers. Essentially, if someone buys a “Choose Life” license plate, some of the proceeds would go to crisis centers.

Women are not delicate little flowers who can’t handle information, despite what NARAL Pro Choice and Planned Parenthood tell us. They should have the option of having all the information presented to them before an abortion so they understand what they are doing.

NARAL claims that crisis pregnancy centers — which exist to dissuade women from having an abortion — mislead woman. In New York, abortion rights groups lobbied Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to shut down such centers because they allegedly “scared” women.

As a life-long feminist, I find this approach by so-called women’s rights groups perplexing and more than a little insulting to women.

What really seems to enrage NARAL and Planned Parenthood is when crisis pregnancy centers use ultra-sound devices, or other methods, to show women pictures of their fetuses. To say that this is a “scare tactic” would be like saying it is a “scare tactic” to show a man a picture of clogged arteries to try to get him to understand his health situation. Yes, it may scare him in a certain direction — or not — but it’s an informed decision.

If a woman is seven weeks pregnant and someone shows her this picture, what is wrong with that? How is that “scary”?

Women are not delicate little flowers who can’t handle information, despite what NARAL Pro Choice and Planned Parenthood tell us. They should have the option of having all the information presented to them before an abortion so they understand what they are doing.

I don’t think they should be forced to look at an ultrasound, but one should be offered.

Abortion-rights activists sneer about anti-abortion advocates ignoring science. But the reality is that science is not on the side of NARAL or their ilk, and they know that. That’s why they don’t want women looking at ultrasounds or hearing that what they call a “little clump of cells” has a heartbeat at 3 weeks. (I learned that at the “Bodies” exhibit).

It was learning about that current science on fetal development that first shook my strong pro-choice beliefs. (I’m now where most Americans are: not advocating overturning Roe v. Wade, but in favor of limitations on abortion).

A few years ago, I was curious about crisis pregnancy centers (to be honest I had totally bought the negative propaganda about them) so I signed up for the counselor training at one in Manhattan.

I was ready to be outraged by their manipulation but in fact all they did was present information about the development of the fetus and advice on how to counsel women seeking abortion, with most of their focus on how to be loving to women seeking counseling after having an abortion.

Another key focus was on how to help women get health insurance if they wanted to keep the baby and finding parents to adopt the child if they wanted that option.

I don’t doubt that some of the crisis pregnancy centers are deceitful and engage in harmful practices. Such places should be shut down. But as a person who cares about women’s rights, I would be enormously pleased if the people who claim to be “pro-choice” would embrace a wider array of choices for women dealing with unwanted pregnancies, rather than trying to bully any organization offering abortion alternatives out of existence.

Abortion is a blessing according to new president of Episcopal Divinity School

I could cry reading something like this....how did we stray so far

From New President of Episcopal Divinity School: 'Abortion is a Blessing'

The new president of the Episcopal Divinity School is openly gay and an outspoken advocate of abortion and "LGBT" rights.

These are the two things I want you, please, to remember – abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.
These are the two things I want you, please, to remember – abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.
WASHINGTON (Catholic Online) – The announcement on Monday, March 30 that The Rev. Dr. Katherine Ragsdale was appointed as the sixth and newest president of Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) in Cambridge, MA, has orthodox and pro-life Episcopalians shaking their heads.

Ragsdale, who is an outspoken advocate of abortion and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender) rights, was the unanimous choice of the Board of Trustees and will begin her duties on July 1, 2009.

In addition to the press release and public letter concerning the appointment, the EDS website also has a link to Rev. Ragsdale’s sermon blog. There, the first sermon is entitled, “Our Work is Not Done.” The content has been cited and circulated on a large number of pro-life and conservative Christian blogs. An excerpt follows:

“When a woman wants a child but can’t afford one because she hasn’t the education necessary for a sustainable job, or access to health care, or day care, or adequate food, it is the abysmal priorities of our nation, the lack of social supports, the absence of justice that are the tragedies; the abortion is a blessing.

“And when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion – there is not a tragedy in sight -- only blessing. The ability to enjoy God’s good gift of sexuality without compromising one’s education, life’s work, or ability to put to use God’s gifts and call is simply blessing.

“These are the two things I want you, please, to remember – abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Abortion is a blessing and our work is not done.”

Currently, Ragsdale serves as Rector of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Pepperell, MA. She is also President and Executive Director of Political Research Associates, that describes itself as “a progressive think tank devoted to supporting movements that are building a more just and inclusive democratic society.”

The organization’s website also indicates that one of their missions is to “expose movements, institutions, and ideologies that undermine human rights,” particularly regarding the Christian and political right.

She has previously served on the boards of NARAL Pro-Choice America and the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.

Ragsdale, who is openly gay, was profiled by Rich Barlow of the Boston Globe in their March 5 edition. During that interview she stated, "I've experienced far more resistance and discrimination in the progressive community for being a Christian than I do in the Christian community for being a lesbian.”

In his article, Barlow also stated that “she recalled that three women, spying her collar, once tried to keep her out of a meeting room for the National Abortion Rights Action League - even though she was a member of the league's board.”

EDS trustee, The Rt. Rev. M. Thomas Shaw stated in a press release, “I am thrilled with the appointment of Katharine Ragsdale as the president and dean of EDS. She brings a wealth of small parish ministry to her new position and it is critical that the new president and dean be able to train and form parish priests for the growth of progressive parishes across the country. She brings a wealth of experience, talent and creativity to this new position.”

In her acceptance of the position, Ragsdale said, “"EDS' commitment to the full range of diversity and not merely to inclusion but to transformation is at the heart of my own values and commitments. I believe that EDS grounds that work in the context of deep, thorough, nuanced theological education. The thought of leading and supporting an organization doing cutting edge theology and preparing lay and ordained leadership to serve God in the church and the world is very exciting."

Episcopal Divinity School, formed in 1974 with the merger of Philadelphia Divinity School (founded in 1857) and the Episcopal Theological School (founded in 1867), offers doctor of ministry and master’s degrees, as well as certificates in theological studies. Located on an eight-acre campus just a few blocks from Harvard Yard, EDS is a member of the Boston Theological Institute, a consortium of nine theological schools, seminaries, and departments of religion.

This I believe....how it all started

Austin changed my heart but the evidence changed my mind. How does a pro-choice woman going through her Murphy Brown stage become a pro-life educator? On August 4th 1994, I walked down the hall of a hospital holding my first grandchild in my arms. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of life and also the realization that I had spent a good portion of the last nine months trying to snuff out this very life. Austin’s mom, my youngest daughter was only 16. I am sure every mother can identify.
As time went on, the emotion was replaced by studying the pro-life viewpoint. I became educated on the scientific and philosophic evidence that changed my mind and eventually my life. Once I realized and accepted the scientific fact that human life does indeed begin at conception; that everything needed is present at that moment and the only things needed going forward is time and nutrients; I could not escape the obvious conclusion-even though it was neither popular nor politically correct in my world.
A sentence that is not original with me summed it up perfectly. If the pre born are not human, no justification for abortion is needed but if the pre born are human, what justification is adequate? All in the abortion debate agree that abortion kills, as that is the sole purpose of the procedure. What I have to ask then is what am I about to kill?
