Meet Your New Nanny, People Magazine: Attacks Duggars, Right to Life (& Tebow Ad)

As you know, during Sunday’s Superbowl (or is it, Super Bowl?) telecast, Tim Tebow and Focus on the Family will run a pro-life ad.  And timing is everything.

That’s why I question the timing of the latest People Magazine, the cover of which is above.  The issue is in stores today and features a photo of the Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, the parents of the Duggar Family, a religious Christian family, with 19 kids (the latest of which was recently born).  The family, which does not believe in birth control or abortion, has a TV reality show to help pay the bills.  The People cover has the nerve to blare this question:

HOW MANY KIDS ARE TOO MANY?

What they do is their business.  I just love how the pro-abortion community–which is constantly preaching, “A woman has a right to do what she wants with her own body”–suddenly believes that it has a right to interfere with the Duggar’s personal decision about whether or not they want to have more kids.  Suddenly, this woman’s right to do what she wants with her own body isn’t so sacred to the hypocritical “pro-choice” movement.  It’s pure elitism. They don’t want her to have a choice at all or the fictional “right to privacy” that Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun admitted he made up to make abortion legal.
What is this–Chairman Mao’s China, where Big Brother tells people how many kids they can have? This is a private decision between a man and his wife. The Duggars should be able to have as many kids as they want to, so long as they can care for them.  And the Duggar kids–almost 20 of them–are all so well-behaved, polite, and put together, it’s amazing.  All of their children are in better shape than many families with just one of two kids, where kids are out of control and unbehaved.
And People Mag calls the Duggar’s family a “supersize family” as if it’s some sort of cheap McDonald’s meal, and the leftover “kids” should be easily disposed of. Nauseating.
So, why did People choose this weekend to run its Nanny State Birth Control cover against the Duggars?  Could it be because the liberals at the magazine can’t stand the positive attention the pro-life message is getting from coverage of the Tim Tebow Focus on the Family pro-life ad?
I think that’s exactly what’s going on here.  Like I said, timing is everything.  And the fact this is the People cover story, this weekend, is no coincidence.
Or as the French would say, Quelle Coincidence!
