- Big Blue Wave points to a study out of Israel showing chemical abortion may be less effective in women who have had a previous pregnancy.
- The Family Research Council highlights an important article in the December issue of The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, co-authored by Dr. Donna Harrison, president of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. It is in part directed to educate pharmacists on adverse events associated with abortion drugs, such as the so-called “morning-after pill” Ella, which can abort a baby. Note Jivin J’s post today about the pharmacist who refused to fill a Planned Parenthood script without knowledge of the reason for its use.
- Accepting Abundance examines the complicated issue of vaccines, autism and the use of aborted fetal cells in immunizations.
- Ethika Politika examines the ethics of “life of the mother” situations, specifically ectopic pregnancy. Catherine Palmer writes:
Some readers may know that in philosophy, there is a principle
called double effect: a morally permissible act may have a foreseen but
unintended side-effect. In the case of a tubal pregnancy, removing the
fallopian tube may be necessary to preserve the life of the mother, and,
tragically, will likely result in the death of the child. Nonetheless,
removing the tube is very different from abortion, which is intended to
kill the child; here, intent matters.
