Excellent Sidewalk Counselor Training coming to Nashville

Since March of last year, there has been a consistent pro-life presence outside of the Women's Center in Nashville. Sidewalk counselors have been present on the weekday mornings offering hope and help to abortion minded parents. Since then, many women and families have been turned away from the Women's Center after receiving counsel at this difficult time. With the right training, anyone can be a sidewalk counselor. I know I have spoken to many of you who feel called to pro-life ministry, but are unsure of where to begin. Now is the perfect opportunity for you to become better equipped to effectively offer hope to mothers who are skeptical of hope and desperate for help.

Last year, Tennessee Right to Life hosted a training seminar with Maria Graham. The training was so successful that TRL is hosting another seminar on Saturday, February 6, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Tusculum Hills Baptist Church, 4930 Nolensville Pike Nashville, TN 37211.

Come learn Monsignor Philip Reilly's method of sidewalk counseling! The training featuring Maria Graham, utilizes the method that has successfully closed down 22 centers in the New York area. You will learn:
• how to implement effective sidewalk counseling techniques
• how to create a prayerful presence at the abortion center
• how to offer assistance to a post-abortive woman
• how to maintain a peaceful, non-threatening atmosphere
• how to convert a mother's heart and thereby save the life of the child

Training will include role-playing with real-life scenarios and a question and answer period. I look forward to seeing you there! Let me know if you have any questions.

About the Speaker

Maria Graham started sidewalk counseling thirteen years ago at the age of thirteen. When she was sixteen, she worked as an assistant to the director of sidewalk counseling for the Catholic Pro-life Committee of North Texas during which she trained, recruited, motivated and organized other sidewalk counselors. During college, she was the sidewalk counseling director for students at the Franciscan University of Stubenville. It was during this time that she developed her own training program. She has presented her training all across the United States and also in Mexico.

Maria holds a masters degree in social work and currently works as a therapist for infants and young children with emotional and attachment disorders related to abuse, neglect and developmental disabilities. She also works with an adoption agency in Dallas, TX, where she helped establish a state-funded crisis pregnancy program called Pathways to Parenting, which helps mothers in crisis situations with practical, emotional, and family relational issues.
