"A New York City jury found Kenneth Minor guilty of first degree murder in the death of Jeffrey Locker, a Long Island self-help guru whose business was floundering.
The prosecution conceded that Locker was suicidal and sought out Minor on a Harlem street corner in July 2009.
"This was murder for money, not a mercy killing, which is why we prosecuted the case as an intentional murder," Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said in a statement. "We believe the jurors got it right with their verdict."
Here it is again....can we believe this?? Story of an inspirational speaker, Jeffrey Locker who made a living speaking about overcoming stress actually pays a man to do a "Kevorkian" on him by stabbing him and making it look like robbery/murder so his family could collect the insurance. It is hard to believe that anyone could plunge himself into a knife over and over again. I know the family wishes they had Locker back regardless of the other circumstances. How terribly sad.
"Kenneth Minor, whose trial begins today in New York, told authorities
that Locker hired him to help him commit suicide.
“We’re going to present defense experts that say Locker lunged, by
himself, onto the knife,” said Daniel Gotlin, Minor’s lawyer. “That’s
the whole case: active or passive. All or nothing.”
The trial is set to commence Thursday and will help determine the definition of assisted suicide."
