Meant to Be....beautiful both the song and story behind it

From Pro Life Blogs:

Songwriter Ryan Scott Bomberger described the song below, entitled Meant to Be, in the following way: "My biological mother was raped, yet despite her unspeakable pain, chose Life. This song simply says thank you for giving me a chance to love and be loved." Even in response to the evil of rape, because of one loving mother, a voice is going forth on behalf of the many others that are "meant to be" but are facing extinction (Ryan is behind the "Black Children are an Endangered Species" initiative). Amen, Ryan! Run your race in the Lord! You were indeed "meant to be" for such a time as this.

Facing extinction? Susie, African Americans have a higher birth rate, not lower.

Per the CDC the African Americans make up about 13.5% of the US population and account for 38.5% of the abortions. Pretty alarming statistics.

Yes, but do you not realize that African Americans also account for a similarly high proportion of unintended pregnancies Susie?

That's the alarming statistic.

(And again, none of this supports the claim that African Americans are "facing extinction".)

thanks for your comments but if they are not reproducing enough to replace they are but you surely don't mean to say that unintended pregnancies need to be aborted. It almost sounds like you are saying that we don't need 39% more births of this race. I am sure you didn't mean that.

That's not what I saying at all Susie.

What I am saying is that when you cite the fact that the abortion rate is disportionately high for African Americans you should also cite that the unintended pregnancy rate is similarly high.

Regardless of the higher abortion rate, African Americans are reproducing at a higher rate than whites and at a rate that is high enough to replace. To say they are facing extinction is erroneous. And to say they are an " endangered species" is even more erroneous since being black dies not make you another species! It's a ridiculous slogan all around.

In no way am I suggest we need less african Americans. Personally, I don't care what colour a persons skin is. What we do need less of though is unintended pregnancies and teen mothers.
