As Ronald Reagan would say.....here we go again!
I thought Andy Sher was a better reporter than that...but maybe I have him confused with someone else. Catch the headline....GOP candidates for TN governor vow to fight abortion rights...... I guess he went to the NPR class on politically correct but inaccurate speech.....and his understanding of the issue is totally absent. I am surprised because I thought he had a better grasp of the issue and was a better writer than this...maybe t he Tennessean asked him to change to fit their left leaning agenda on the issue of right to life.
For those who may be confused by the article......SJR 127 is an amendment to the state constitution that simply states that our constitution is silent on the issue of abortion. This is the only way our elected legislators can put any commonsense regulations back in play after the ACLU and Planned Parenthood sued the state to remove the following: informed consent, waiting periods, clinic regulations and the demands that late term abortions be done in hospitals. Yes, all these were declared unconstitutional by a group of unelected justices who found a right to abortion in our constitution that was written back in the 1800's. Please show me the word abortion in there! SJR 127 is not about eliminating abortion. Andy Sher certainly knows better or should. Read the article here and count how many times you see the bias showing....

I think 2010 will go down in history as the year "commonsense" was so overused and misused by the Tea Partiers and the GOP.
Being able to pass laws regarding informed consent and waiting period etc. sound like commonsense laws to me but I am open for a better word as long as it is accurate. It may be overused but hardly misused. But thanks for your comment
