What the PPAC news release did not say was that Family PACT is a major source of funding for Planned Parenthood’s multi-million dollar business, which over the past several years has shown ever-increasing profits. And those Family PACT millions do not include additional revenues earned by Planned Parenthood in government contracts and Medi-Cal payments for providing abortions.Figures from the giant Planned Parenthood-Mar Monte, the state’s largest PP affiliate, provide a good example of just how much money is involved. Planned Parenthood Mar Monte took in $55.5 million in 2005, according to its annual report, 81% of which came from government funding – 54% from the Family PACT program. That’s nearly $30 million for just one of Planned Parenthood’s nine affiliates. Mar M
Since the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003, most Planned Parenthood affiliates in California have shown substantial growth in net assets, according to federal tax statements. According to federal tax documents, eight of California’s nine Planned Parenthood affiliates showed a combined net increase in revenues of $91.7 million between 2002 and 2007. The considerable increase in assets came despite repeated appeals to the state legislature for financial relief, as the abortion provider claimed it was turning away thousands of patients for lack of funds. The growth in Planned Parenthood net assets came despite massive spending on their part to defeat three parental notification initiatives during the same time period.

It past time for CA to cut PP loose
CA Catholic Daily has a good article showing the hypocrisy of PP once again. What's new? CA ,as we all know, is broke and the Gov. is slashing the budget to ward off bankruptcy. PP is out with a campaign to keep their cash register flowing with govt. money. They have a powerful lobbying force (not volunteers for sure) keeping the Dem. majority at the Capital remembering who gives them contributions. Some good points from the article that you can read in full here.
