We will laught at anything these days because nothing is off limits anymore

Family Guy will release its DVD entitled Partial Terms of Endearment  for sale on Sept. 28th.They proudly put on the cover " Banned from TV." They are proud of it. Makes for more sales, don't ya know.
This article spells out how there is nothing off limits anymore. We can laugh at anything....wonder how Family Guy would handle the Holocaust, or the 911 attack? As the article points out, if they  can find humor in suctioning out body parts of babies...they can find humor in anything. Gallows humor, I think they call it.
Some real side splitting excerpts:
Oh, it's a big decision, Peter readily acknowledges. "But life is FULL of big decisions — like deciding whether or not to have Indian food."
At one point, Peter (voiced by MacFarlane) watches an anti-abortion video, whose speaker declares, "Science has proven that within hours of conception, a human fetus has started a college fund and has already made your first Mother's Day card out of macaroni and glitter."

Family Guy Creator Seth MacFarlane Can’t See His Own Hate

TV sure is hard for laughs these days....

From: Second Hand Smoke
Wesley J Smith

Last night, Family Guy’s creator, Seth MacFarlane was on Larry King and the program allowed Terri’s brother, Bobby Schindler, to send in a question.  From the transcript:
KING: Seth MacFarlane’s our guest. His show provoked an outcry with a musical about the late Terri Schiavo. We reached out to them today and Terri’s brother Bobby had this question for you. “How do you justify using the term vegetable to describe any human being when its only intention is to denigrate and dehumanize just like the “N” word?”
MACFARLANE: My first response would be it’s not a human being, it is a cartoon. But you know, I think — this is — this was a touchy area because the idea was, keep in mind, this is a play within a play. And this is an instance where you see the Griffin family in the audience reacting and in a way that is — they themselves are a little put off and we have done this a few times on the show in which there’s something that’s done in extreme — you know, one could argue questionable taste but you got to have somebody there who’s reacting to that in a negative way and that’s something that we sort of tried to include with Brian and Chris sitting in the audience reacting wide eyed at this show. It is kids putting on a play. You know, whether the — whether that term is denigrating is for the viewer to judge.
MacFarlane’s elliptical answer indicates to me that he has never considered the question.  He wasn’t asked about the show, he was asked about the epithet. Read the rest of the article here

Family Guy' abortion will not air on Fox...good for them!

How could you have a comedy about abortion...thank you Fox for showing some decency. Doesn't  this picture just crack you up? Think of all the zippy one liners you could have with this picture.

Fox will not be airing the Family Guy episode entitled "Partial Terms of Endearment," that deals with abortion. MacFarlane said in an email statement "Clearly my sarcasm doesn’t come across in print. I completely support whatever decision Fox makes. We were allowed to take a crack at this controversial story and that’s enough for me.” Don't worry fans, MacFarlane also said the episode will probably be available on DVD.

How did average Americans react to Family Guy mocking Down Syndrom and Palin

The folks' reaction to the Palin/Family Guy dust-up From the OReilly Factor" The animated program "Family Guy" mocked Sarah Palin by using a character with Down Syndrome. The Factor asked pollster Frank Luntz to wire up a group of voters and show them the episode in question. "The reaction we got was shocking," Luntz said. "Democrats have a reputation for being more 'compassionate,' but they didn't find that offensive and the Republicans did. Where's the compassion? The demonization of Sarah Palin has worked."
