French Religious Community Welcomes Girls with Down Syndrome
Every year we go on a missions trip to Tanzania. Last year we went to the island of Ukerewe where albinos babies are sent to find refuge from being murdered for their body parts by witch doctors which is still an occurrence in Tanzania. This island is a refuge. Missionaries and others take care for these babies and they live a normal life. I thought of that as I read this story about a religious order allowing Down Syndrome girls to enter the religious order .
LE BLANC, France, March 29, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Little Sisters Disciples of the Lamb are a contemplative religious community in France that enables girls with Down syndrome to respond to a religious vocation.
