Houston, TX....great story featured on the Today Show. I note that the interviewer starts out calling her a fetus but quickly switches to baby. This amazing story is like the Baby Samuel story that made headlines at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville
several years ago.
In this case, mom was 6 mos. pregnant when the ultrasound showed that a grapefruit size tumor was attached to the baby girl and was literally robbing her blood supply. Without tricky surgery, she would die. The surgery meant that the baby was 80% lifted out of the uterus and then returned for another 10 weeks gestation.
Macie Hope literally was born twice.
You certainly could not convince anyone in this story of the lack of personhood or humanity of Macie Hope.
