Politico: cutting Title X $$ will starve PP into stopping abortion. I thought Title X money did not go for abortions????

Politico puts this article on the front page showing that this is indeed front and center and that  Mike Pence is focused and  making in roads.

"We should end the day when the largest abortion provider is the largest recipient of [Title X] federal funding,” he said.

"But Planned Parenthood performed 328,300 abortions in 2008, which would account for about a quarter of the 1.21 million abortions that year, according to statistics from the Guttmacher Institute"

“Let the abortion providers provide for themselves,” Pence says. “I’d like to continue to be a persistent, respectful voice for the sanctity of life.”

"In the meantime, his goal is clear: Starve Planned Parenthood of cash so that it will have no choice but to stop performing abortions."

What???.....Politico who leans toward abortion supporters in their rhetoric....abortion is a profit center for PP....I thought the Title X monies were not used for abortions???....is this a slip up or a gaffe (accidentally telling the truth) . If Title X money which makes up a third of their budget is used only for STD testing and family planning visits, why would this impact their ability to do abortions which is a profit center. Because money is fungible and goes into the same "pot" that hires the staff and builds the facilities that makes its money that runs the abortion side of the business  that's why.


We object to the one penny of our tax money going to Planned Parenthood.  Let the abortion providers raise their own money privately.
