Should school books address the eugenics background of founder of Planned Parenthood??

Why not, it is a fact. PP should address it instead of pretending it did not exist.

Liberals are also  spending their time fighting over whether they should say that the first African American president is Barack Obama or Barack Hussein Obama.....the latter is the name he wanted to use when he was being sworn in....so what's the big deal? Because words matter especially in shaping young minds.

But it is good to have this fight become public... before all this was done under the radar and that is why when liberals stacked these boards we ended up with so much in our school system that caused parents to pull their children out and home school them. Just as certain people are attracted to certain occupations; the liberal persuasion have been attracted to education to the point that those with conservative views have felt that they had to keep them under wraps.

Texas Textbook Vote Set for Friday

MYFOXNY.COM - The Texas Board of Education is putting the finishing touches on a final set of proposed social study standards. For months the two sides have been far apart on a number issues ranging from race to religion.
The divide grew with the introduction of new amendments Thursday, including one that says high school books should outline the practice of eugenics -- the sterilization of a selected group of people. The idea supported by early progressives like Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger.
A bloc of seven social conservative board members is driving the agenda.
The five Democrats on the board are standing their ground and hoping to pick up a few votes against changes they feel minimize the accomplishments of minorities and women.
The board is set to vote Friday.
Ben Jealous, the head of the NAACP, testified Wednesday that 40 percent of the country uses textbooks based on Texas standards.
But Education Secretary Arne Duncan said this vote's impact is being overstated.
"Textbook companies absolutely have the ability to customize textbooks and whatever Texas decides," Duncan said. "I don't think there will be any major ripple effects around the country."

2010 Rally for Life in TN- and Eugenics -- the evil roots of abortion

 TN  Rally for Life 2010.....thoughts
TN Right to Life had another good rally on Sunday, January 24th. I could not find anything about it in the MSM. I don't know why I bother to look. They never cover it or do so with such a short clip that if you blink you miss it. I saw nothing in the papers.  I remember one year writing an angry letter to the Tennessean stating that 1,000 people showed up on a cold January Sunday afternoon on the steps of the Capital with the Bishop of TN and Richard Land among others addressing the crowd and not one word in the Tennessean but let 20 pro aborts show up and they are all over it. He wrote back and apologized and said they would try to do better in the future. But of course they don't. Nary a word.

Oh well, I attend every year and it is always inspiring. Hard to keep topping yourself. This year it was indoors at the Sheraton. I appreciated the comfort of being indoors but sometimes it is more exciting to be outside on the Capital steps. I am not good at estimating but the room was STO so maybe 7-800 in attendance. There were a couple of  people doing private videos  there, one who was making an HBO documentary.  Citizen  documentaries are replacing the MSM anyway.

The speaker was Rev Walter Hoye from CA who gained notoriety in the pro life world when he was arrested for peaceful sidewalk counseling in front of an abortion mill. It was quite a story. As an African American pastor, he said one sentence that I cannot forget.....he talked about the African American community being so hard hit by abortion that they are not replacing themselves. "For every 100 births to African Americans, there are 77 abortions." Wow, what a sobering thought!  But that is exactly what Margaret Sanger intended when she founded Planned Parenthood. She would be proud. Here is an article about the documentary Maafa 21. It should be required viewing by all members of Congress....

Eugenics -- the evil roots of abortion
A documentary and expose' on the abortion business has caught the attention of some members of Congress.
The documentary, Maafa 21,  traces the history of Planned Parenthood to its founder, Margaret Sanger, who believed in eugenics -- controlling and eliminating certain population groups, especially including minorities such as African-Americans. Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics produced the film. He says the project has proven itself effective after having been shown and discussed by a number of churches and media outlets.

Ron Miller explains his views as a Christian and politician, and that the two can work in unison.

What an inspiring article...we need more politicians like him. This one question is very insightful. I hope he wins and we hear more from him.
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and yes POTUS could learn from him. It is writtern by a Christian teen from Michigan. I think he does a pretty good job.

Current communications director for the Calvert County Republican Central Committee, Ron Miller is a politician and businessman from Huntingtown, Maryland. He served in the United States Air Force from 1983-1992, attaining the rank of Captain. Miller worked for the Bush administration from 2001 to 2004, initially as Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and later as a Program Executive Officer for the Small Business Administration (SBA). He also has worked for Science Applications International Corporation and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
In 2006, Miller ran for a seat in the United States House of Representatives for Maryland, but later dropped out of that race. He then announced his bid for state Senate instead. He ended up losing to Thomas V. "Mike" Miller, Jr., but on April 9, 2009, he announced he will be running for the seat again in 2010.

If you were given one year to live, what is the overriding task you would want to accomplish before death?
