Can doctors have opinions....before treatment starts or in the middle of it....

I have a friend in the Nashville area who was in the middle of treatment with a well known nuerologist and it came up in conversation that my friend was active in pro life activities....the Dr. refused to treat her anymore and actually documented that she was dismissing her due to her pro life commitments....

From Right Pundits .com
Doctors have opinions, too. And Dr. Jack Cassell of Mount Dora, Florida has made his public outside his office door. The urologist posted this sign: “If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years.”

Long live free speech. Cassell is not refusing to offer treatment. He is, however, making a statement. That the health care reform bill is bad medicine. “I’m not turning anybody away — that would be unethical,” Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. “But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it.” A professor of bioethics, law and medical professionalism at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine, despite saying Cassell is “pushing the limit”, admitted the urologist is within his right.

Doctors cannot refuse patients due to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability. Political preference isn’t listed. However, as Dr. Cassell as said, he isn’t refusing treatment. But he has a right to his opinion and his right to express it. If he prefers not to treat those who have supported Obama and the health care mandate, Cassell can express that opinion, according to the Florida Medical Association. Erin VanSickle, spokeswoman for the Florida Medical Association, would not comment specifically. But she noted in an e-mail to the Sentinel that “physicians are extended the same rights to free speech as every other citizen in the United States.”

On a CNN inteview, Rep. Alan Grayson (D) claims this is racially motivated and is filing a complaint to have his license removed. Grayson is claiming that Obama supporteres are African Americans.

He's ALIVE

Did this event really happen?? Dinosaur media hints that it did!

The liberal Tennessean printed a picture of the Pro Life Women's Day on the Hill ,not to cover the event mind you ......but mentioned it in a lengthy article about Ron Ramsey running for governor. They mentioned he was at Pro Life Women's Day on the Hill because..... per the article his attraction is on social issues.....kind of a left handed compliment on their slant of his candidacy.....
as the only social issues they deem worthy are the far left issues like abortion on demand.

How I long for the days when newspapers were worth the cheap paper they were printed on. We only get the weekend edition because my husband likes the Sudoku puzzles.  I can look over the whole paper before my first cup of coffee is finished. There is nothing in there I already did not know....I complain. Maybe Ms. Cheap is worth reading and you enjoy the puzzles  but with the garbage disposal taking over the need to wrap up coffee grounds and no pets to do their business on why do we even bother with this I ask? I guess to see events like Pro Life Women's Day on the Hill getting a slight mention in an article about a candidate for governor. They call it the Dinosaur media.  I'll say.

Sunday's comin......

Hillary Clinton’s Comments on ‘Legal, Safe Abortion’ Stir Canadian Debate

"The official opposition Liberal Party then introduced a parliamentary motion stating that Canada’s G8 initiative “must include the full range of family planning, sexual and reproductive health options.” After a day-long debate, the motion was defeated 144-138, after three Liberals broke party ranks to vote with the government."

This really infuriates me.....Hillary Clinton in her capacity as Secretary of State goes to Canada and promotes her pro abortion agenda on them. They had a vote and have spoken on this issue. Read the article here.  Why can't she just keep her opinion to herself. She wants to spread abortion where ever she goes. It is bad enough to spread her pro abortion agenda at home but now she thinks she should tell other countries how to kill their own. What arrogance! Is this what she thinks is the role of the Secratry of State?

Consider the irony.....

From Purejoy......see recommended blogs on sidebar for Restore Wonder....
Read the article here about a 12 year old PA boy , Jordon Brown, tried for murder as an adult for  "two innocent lives" the mother and unborn son.... See her insightful comments. ......... You can't make this stuff up.....
Every year I travel to Africa and that is one of the things Africans want to know about Americans .....why do you kill your children in the womb and you are not even hungry??? I have no answer for them.

From Purejoy......"Consider the irony, if you will. A twelve-year-old boy is being tried for murder in Pennsylvania as an adult for killing a fetus who died when he shot his father’s pregnant fiancĂ©e, while adults all over the US (physicians who are trained to save lives) are killing fetuses intentionally.  Not only are they not in danger of prosecution, they are celebrated by many as brave advocates of women, who profit financially from their labors.

So, we punish some people and reward others, for the very same action."

Long Distance death.....no doctor on site for these abortions!

While this is shocking today, it will become even more commonplace as the shortage of physicians  becomes evident when this  new health care law goes into effect. Planned Parenthood faces a shortage of docs willing to do abortions so they are pushing the abortion pill (RU 486) as a way to keep revenues up and costs down. Most of the doctors who are doing  abortions are retirement age and the younger professionals are pro life. What is really shocking is that most of the personnel in these clinics are not medically trained at all. Now they circumvent the law by having the doctor on a computer screen....read the article and hear the recording.......you listen to the doctor who is in another location ....so no physical examination.....then after listening to the doc online, you press a button and the drug that causes you to bleed out your pregnancy appears....chilling! Read the article here  and listen to the recording yourself.

Planned Parenthood deepens link to breast-cancer group

I have  for some time refused to contribute  to Susan G. Komen because I knew they gave money to Planned Parenthood but this columns shows it is deeper than that!

by: Jill Stanek
World Net Daily

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation had noble beginnings, launched by Nancy Goodman Brinker in response to a promise she made to her dying sister, Susan Goodman Komen, to do all she could to eradicate breast cancer. Komen succumbed to the disease in 1980 at age 36. Nancy went on to contract the disease herself and is now a survivor.
SGK has a noble mission, "to save lives and end breast cancer forever."
But for years pro-lifers have opposed contributing to SGK because it not only denies that induced abortions may cause breast cancer, it also bestows financial grants to Planned Parenthood affiliates.

Pro-lifers believe that for all the good SGK does, it shoots its mission in both feet by refusing to educate women about the abortion-breast cancer link while funding the United States' largest abortion provider.
Disregarding decades of worldwide studies concluding there is a link between abortion and breast cancer, logic alone says abortion increases the risk.
On its website, SGK acknowledges that childbearing protects women from breast cancer, and the more children a mother bears and the younger she begins bearing them the better. SGK also acknowledges breast-feeding protects against breast cancer.
But abortion blocks all those preventative measures.
Only last week a new study got lots of press that found breast cancer survivors lower their risk of dying by 42 percent simply by getting pregnant.
But abortion blocks that protection.
SGK acknowledges never having children increases a woman's risk of getting breast cancer, and delaying childbearing, particularly after age 35, also increases the risk.
And abortion increases the risk of both those risks.
Logic.
It would seem logical that with all the controversy surrounding abortion's role in breast cancer, SGK would simply back away from involvement with it in any way if wanting to stay true to its mission "to save lives and end breast cancer forever."
That would include SGK's relationship with Planned Parenthood.
But SGK is not backing away. Between 2003 and 2008, SGK gave $3 million to Planned Parenthood. In Fiscal Year 2008 alone, Planned Parenthood got $805,000 from SGK.
SGK now has a webpage dedicated to defending its involvement with Planned Parenthood, including message points and a letter from a "pro-life Catholic."
Most recently added to the webpage, in March, was an open letter from SGK's chief scientific adviser quoting two Catholic ethicists who "concluded that it was morally permissible for the church to be involved with Komen in light of its funding agreements with Planned Parenthood ... specifically and solely for breast health services. ..."
SGK maintains there are certain places in the United States where Planned Parenthood is the sole provider of breast-cancer screening, education and treatment.
I don't believe it, but that is SGK's defense. Even if so, is it really "morally permissible" to cause breast cancer in one room if screening for it in the next?
Three days ago a diligent pro-lifer in Washington state discovered on Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest's IRS 990 forms that it has held a 12.5 percent share in Metro Centre, a mall in Peoria, Ill., since 2006.
PPGNW is Washington's largest abortion provider. (It is also currently under investigation for Medicaid fraud.) Metro Centre is owned by Eric Brinker.

Eric Brinker is the son of Nancy Goodman Brinker, the founder of SGK. Eric also sits on SGK's board. Eric was a stand-up guy and responded to most of my initial questions. He explained in an e-mail, "This share represents a minority, non-operating interest in the business which they inherited from one of the original shareholders , a resident of Peoria. I, Eric Brinker, have controlling interest in Metro Centre."But when I pursued follow-up questions, Eric wrote he was no longer available.

So there is much still unanswered. Why didn't PPGNW cash in its inheritance? Why didn't Eric buy? If the share was willed, it was worth something. The real-estate market was thriving in 2006. It appears both partners are OK with this now four-year-old business partnership.
Eric wrote in his e-mail only "20 of Komen's 122 U.S. Affiliates fund breast-health services through local Planned Parenthood clinics." SGK states the total money given represents "less than one percent of the total granted by affiliates."

My question then is why bother? Why play with fire?
Whatever, the fact remains that the son of the founder of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, who is also a member of the board, owns a business – a mall – together with a Planned Parenthood affiliate.
The irony. Susan G. Komen's nephew is financially enabling an abortion business.
And condemning more women to develop breast cancer.

Lillith Fair caves to pressure from pro aborts and drops Pregnancy Resource Centers from list of charities ....

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Four days after it first received national attention for including crisis pregnancy centers in its list of potential charity recipients, organizers of the typically pro-abortion Lilith Fair dropped them from consideration. Officials also dropped a pro-abortion group but kept another and kept a group of maternity homes.
Organizers brought the popular 1990s tour back this year and the Summer 2010 Lilith Fair team announced a "Choose Your Charity" campaign through which Facebook users are able to vote from a pre-selected group of charities.
They would receive $1 for every ticket sold in each concert city -- potentially generating tens of thousands of dollars for charities involved.
To the surprise of pro-life advocates, the Lilith Fair team included pregnancy centers in the mix of groups. No more.
The pro-abortion RH Reality Check blog indicates Lilith Fair dropped all of the pregnancy centers from consideration and the NARAL North Carolina affiliate. However, it kept the Feminist Women's Health Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The maternity homes Lilith Fair previously included -- Maggie's Place in Phoenix, Arizona, Mother's Refuge in Kansas City, Missouri, and Our Lady's Inn and The Haven of Grace, both located in St. Louis -- remain on the list as well.
RHRC posted a statement from Becky Smith and Katie Blair, two pro-abortion activists who launched a campaign to get Lilith Fair to remove the pregnancy centers from the charity list.
They claimed 1,200 pro-abortion activists contacted Lilith officials to complain and they confirmed the removal, saying, "We have seen the removal of the CPCs in each of the cities we listed - Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and Atlanta" and calling the removal a "victory."
They also thanked Lilith co-founder Terry McBride for removing the pregnancy centers and he previously emailed Smith saying, “It’s become clear that we need to set a criteria which we will shortly release that will resolve many of the issues.”

2 Seconds Faster reports on new legal challenges to bills passed in the OK House. The Center for Reproductive Rights is (of course) opposed to the bills which ban sex-selection abortions, allow freedom of conscience for health care workers, and state that only physicians should be allowed to administer the chemical abortion drug RU-486....

•Americans United for Life has a series of posts in honor of Women's History Month. This one deals with the abortion industry's brainwashing rhetoric and with the off-label, dangerous uses of RU-486.

•Dr. Gerard Nadal has an article on the increasing use of euthanasia by family members in order to decrease their own suffering.

•Fr. Frank Pavone begins a series on "Why Abortion Breaks all the Commandments."

Enjoy this wonderful song by two saints....

Pro Life Women's Day on the Hill....TN

The Tennessean ignored it!

About 300 people came to Nashville from all parts of TN on a weekday to participate but of course the Tennessean acted like it did not happen. When doing a small write up of the Freedom from Coercion bill,  at least they got the headcount about right when talking about the number of people crammed into the gallery of the Senate to watch the vote. They said about 100 ....but of course  they called us" "anti abortion" instead of "pro life.".....yes, they were at least  pretty accurate about the number....it was standing room only....with the rest outside or in the legislative halls watching on the screen.

NPR said there were 20 Right to Life supporters in the gallery! Can they count?  Wow....talk about low balling the number....but then it is Joe White at NPR...so what do you expect? Another liberal bastion that refers to us as abortion right OPPONENTS! And they love operating with our tax dollars!

But of course the event was not covered by any news outlet so far...again no surprise. Abby Johnson was the guest speaker and of course her story is not one that Planned Parenthood friends want to publish about her resigning as director of Planned Parenthood after working there seven years and even being named as employee of the year and treated to a luncheon in Washington DC and lunching with Hillary Clinton.

Anyway, it was a good day and even if the local outlets tried to pretend it did not happen. We are here. We are pro life  and like it or not so is the majority of the country especially the youth! They realize that a third of their generation is missing!   We will advocate and we will not be ignored. Ask the pro abortion legislators who are receiving pink slips!
