Naral starts the word game for their nominee...

NARAL is quick to send out an email encouraging everyone to support POTUS pick for the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan...no sense in pretending that  there is no litmus test on the issue of abortion. They are secure that the most pro abortion president will pick someone who is a strong pro abortion ally. This is no surprise. But I love their choice of words to try to energize  the base.

What they say and do  not say is interesting.. They worry that the departure of John Paul Stevens will leave a "vacuum" in the court. Wow! Like the strong vacuum used in the suction aspiration style of abortion that is more powerful than a household vacuum that sweeps the child... oh excuse me ...fetus out of the womb , piece by piece.

She also states that the vast majority of Americans support the values of freedom and privacy this ruling represents. Really...the latest polling says that the majority of Americans now self identify themselves as pro life. Sure everyone values freedom and privacy but the majority now understand that abortion is the destruction of an innocent human being and so self identify themselves as pro life.

And of course there is the usual call for a thoughtful discussion and fair hearing...something they did not encourage when pro life judges were being confirmed. But now the war on words will begin....freedom, privacy, bodily autonomy , blah blah! It's all about abortion and the need to keep the abortion industry well funded.

Dear Susan, President Obama has nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to serve on the Supreme Court.
Ask your senators to ensure Solicitor General Kagan gets a fair hearing that includes questions about the right to privacy. Today, President Obama nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court. Solicitor General Kagan has a sound record of legal accomplishment, and we look forward to learning more about this nominee. Make sure the Senate gives Solicitor General Kagan a fair hearing so we can learn more about her views on the right to privacy. Discussion about Roe v. Wade will—and must—be part of this nomination process. The vast majority of Americans supports the values of freedom and privacy this ruling represents. The future of women’s access to abortion hangs in the balance. The last two major choice-related cases were decided by a five-to-four margin, and retiring Justice John Paul Stevens is one of the Supreme Court’s strongest supporters of the right to choose. His departure could create a vacuum on the Court, and our opponents are going to do everything in their power to obstruct the confirmation process. We will not allow attacks on the right to privacy to go unanswered. Tell your senators that Solicitor General Kagan deserves a fair hearing that includes questions about Roe v. Wade. This is an extraordinary time for our cause – a chance to have a thoughtful national conversation about the need to protect women’s freedom and privacy. It’s up to us to make our voices heard. Thank you for taking action and speaking out. My best, Nancy Keenan NARAL Pro-Choice America
