Now why would this be? The internet does not give reliable information all the time. The article felt that in areas where abortion was restricted or not readily available that the internet was the search engine needed to find access.
I am amazed at how many people ask serious medical questions via the internet in different chat venues. They take advice from strangers! Does this mean that they do not trust their docs to give them information or are too embarrassed to ask some questions of their doctor. I can see why a google search on abortion might be a first step in thinking through their options.
"The findings are the result of research at the Children's Hospital in Boston, which analyzed a year's worth of abortion statistics within 50 US states and 37 countries. It compared them to Google's data on the volume of abortion searches from those same countries."
This shows why the pro life movement must be on the internet with their options, information and help lines. I think they are pretty good in that area but we always need to do better in reaching out especially in states such as mine (TN) where informed consent is not mandated.
