A couple in Australia is suing for the right to use IVF to choose the sex of their next child. Currently this is not allowed unless their is a risk of passing on a genetic disease. This couple has three sons and lost a daughter. They must be literally out of their mind with grief and need serious counseling.
They aborted twin boys conceived through IVF for being the wrong sex and do not want to go on conceiving and aborting so they are suing for the right to do sex selection via IVF.
The article included a poll asking fellow Aussies "Should parents be allowed to choose the sex of a baby? " 87% said NO. One dr. disagrees pointing out that we allow people to abort if they don't get the sex they want. So they want the embryos tested prior to implantation and skip the implant only a female and get rid of the males embryos. I guess you could say what's the difference, they are just aborting at an earlier stage.
No explanation how they got their first four children or why they would not consider adoption or adoption of the male embryos they are not interested in. They want what they want. What do you think?
