Accepting Abundance: Save the embryo....save the mother.
Stacy at Accepting Abundance has a good post examining the hypothetical question that often is thrown at pro lifers in an attempt to trip them up on the issue of embryonic stem cell research. S
he correctly points out that she objects to embryos being in freezers anyway. She and her commenters make some thoughtful points.
"So regarding embryo rescue, I would flat out refuse to entertain any
argument about who is more worthy of living. Every human, every person,
is equally worth saving. That's what the Trinity teaches us. In an
actual burning building with people inside, one should prayerfully do
one's best to save all people.
Further, and primarily, no embryos should be in any freezers, ever. This
is heart of marriage and human dignity. All embryos, without
compromise, should live in their mother's womb where the father puts
them through an act of love. Again, that's what the Trinity teaches us.
Anything less is unthinkable"

What about the women who is raped? Should she just suck it up? Or is it then okay to abort because the father didnt "place it there with love"? You scenario is idealistic and doesn't apply to most women in the real world.
We can all agree that rape is a horrible act of violence upon a woman and the rapist should be caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I never heard of a rapist being executed unless he murders as well as rapes. So from your post I suspect you are saying that in this case the baby should die for the crime of the father. I know women who have conceived as a result of rape and one choose to parent and one choose adoption. They refused to execute the innocent child due to the crime of the father even though the act was horrendous. They explained that an abortion would have victimized them a second time.
It is interesting that less than one percent of the abortions are done due to rape but in a conversation about abortion that is the case brought up 100% of the time.
