New Zealand has announced a new gender test that can predict the sex of your baby as early as 8 weeks. There is much consternation and chatter because the unspoken motivation is to have an early abortion if the gender does not meet your requirements. At first I thought why is everyone upset now! No one asks why you want to have the abortion, just pay the money the reason is not important to anyone.
But what is happening is that it allows an earlier and easier (?) cheaper abortion if the sex does not match up. Never mind false positives....just get rid of him/her and try again. It goes along with our total disregard for life and the cheapness of it all. I want what I want after all.
I just returned from a church conference where this was a point of some discussion and shock. This is what happens when we ignore the abortion issue. We slide quickly down the slippery slope. The quality of life trumps the sanctity of human life.
