Update: Day 7 without food and water... Ontario hospital withdraws hydration and nutrition from man not dying but with disability

Read the sad back story of the man who is being euthanized  by dehydration in Ontario.   I called the number for the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition who broke this story and spoke with
Alex Schadenberg , the director to inquire of Pastor Joshua's condition.
We can look for an update soon as he is traveling to Brampton Hospital tomorrow to speak with Substitute Decision Maker (SDM). This SDM o was approved by the hospital when he or she  indicated support for the hospital decision to withhold hydration and nutrition despite signs of recovery from the stoke and that death was not likely. The first SDM, Pastor Joshua's sister, was rejected by the hospital when she would not agree with their demands. Mr. Schadenberg has some hope due to the fact that the SDM agreed to speak to him. He intends to try to get the SDM to reconsider.
Mr. Schadenberg said that since they (Canada) has universal health care, Pastor Joshua is deemed too expensive following his massive heart attack  even though he is showing signs of recovery without any therapy. As the former post pointed out he can speak in short sentences, move his arms and legs, answer commands with one word and is breathing on his own.

Read this America and learn and pray for Pastor Joshua. This is not a quick and painless way to die. God speed, Mr. Schadenberg.  Readers let Brampton Hospital hear from you.

Just because it is cute......

Boycott time: Know who you are doing business with

Check it out.....are you patronizing businesses that give money to PP? Check out the recently published list here. I can tell you the time you spend calling, emailing and writing makes a difference. How can we do business  with someone who chooses to support the nation's largest abortion provider?  LDI does their homework and don't take any lame excuse from their PR dept. as Mommy Life shows us in her informed post. She wrote to Kohl's who said they did not give to PP but to Susan G. Koman, Race for the Cure. Well Barbara informed them in case they were so uninformed that Koman turns around and gives grants to PP and the deepening relationship between the two.

Kuddos to Curves who discontinued their relationship with Komen when they understood. Sadly even some non profits are abortion minded. Check it out.....

Abortion: the ultimate child abuse

I.M. Fletcher writes a thoughtful and documented  post  re: the connection of child abuse and abortion. This is an article from New Zealand but applicable worldwide.....some excerpts are:
"When you have a climate where abortion and (maybe soon) euthanasia are acceptable, the value we place on all life is lowered. If it's acceptable to kill 18,000 of these babies a year in the womb then of course it is going to devalue life across the board; we shouldn't really be too surprised."
"Women who have abortions are significantly more likely to physically abuse their children than women who do not have abortions, said a study by a research group and professors at Bowling Green State University. "

Sleeping with the enemy

This  story caught my eye and what a sad story it is. This lady writes a pro choice blog but her story this time is personal. She reveals that she is going through a divorce as her husband has found another.....but to add insult to injury to make himself look less guilty, he divulges secrets about her that falls under the category of "it is non of their business "to family and friends. Isn't that what happens in the divorce process, in an effort to make yourself look less guilty you throw out all the dirt you can manufacture on the other party to justify your actions.  And what is equally sad is that the person you trusted with your secrets now has become the enemy who holds "classified information" about you.

But I digress......in this case her departing husband outed her on the fact that as a teenager she had an abortion which was forced on her by an hysterical mother. Every mother of a teen girl can relate. But even though she now devotes her life to writing a pro choice blog,  her post tells of the long term psychological consequences of this action even though it was forced upon her.
"To this day, I have PTSD and severe depression. When I turned eighteen, I moved away from her, and never spoke to her again. After an eleven-year estrangement, she died, while I was six months pregnant with my third child."
"Coercion and Forced abortions happen everyday."

Today I will pray for Bella for healing. Healing from the betrayal and the loss. As she faces betrayal of her husband and the loss of a marriage, it reminds her of the loss of so many years ago and the betrayal at the hands of her mother who was supposed  to protect her in her hour of need. May she come to forgive her mother and her estranged husband so she can go on with her life free of bitterness.

Ontario hospital withdraws hydration and nutrition from man not dying but with disability

This very disturbing report in from Ontario. It is like Terri Schiavo all over again except there is no spouse asking for his death by dehydration rather the govt. deciding that he will never recover enough to have a quality of life and the cost of his care would be too high. And some people want this type of healthcare ??? Can anyone say death panels...

"Joshua (48), who is not otherwise dying, is being dehydrated to death (euthanasia by omission). This is not a case when hydration and nutrition need to be withdrawn because he is actually dying and nearing death, but rather the decision appears to have been made to intentionally cause his death by withdrawing IV hydration and nutrition probably because he is unlikely to recover from his disability caused by his collapse. From the beginning of his stay in the ICU until now, the doctors have repeatedly asserted that there is no hope of recovery, from a medical point of view, and they have strongly suggested that all life-sustaining treatment be removed.
Joshua has  stabilized and would likely live for many years in this condition. ... has recovered enough to recognize people can speak in short sentences and move his arms and legs and breathe on his own."

"As of August 17th all nutrition and hydration have been removed."

"Everyone needs to strongly respond by sending letters and emails to:
Brampton Civic Hospital - email: communications@oslerhc.org or call the Communications Hotline at: 905-494-2120, ext. 22505.

Consent and Capacity Board of Ontario - email: ccb@ontario.ca, Phone: 416-327-4142, Fax: 416-924-8873

The letter should state:
I am disgusted with the decision by the Brampton Civic Hospital, its lawyer, and the physician for (Joshua) Kulendran Mayandi, to intentionally cause his death by removing his IV hydration and nutrition even though he is not otherwise dying (euthanasia by omission). If this decision is not reversed, it will create fear among the citizens of Brampton that if they experience a disability that they too would be killed by dehydration and starvation.

For the sake of justice and equality, I demand that you change your policy and once again continue feeding."

Tele Med Abortions and internet medical advice: a deadly combination

How long must you take the Abortion Pill for?

I am not talking about the morning after pill. I am talking about the pill where you can take it within like 7 or 8 weeks. Do you just take 1 pill and thats it, or do you take it over a certain amount of days?
Thanks

Several pro life groups are protesting the use of telemed abortions and are asking the IA Board of Medicine to halt this practice.  Maybe it will stop posts like the above by what appears to be a young girl going to the internet to seek medical advice from strangers......did she get this from a dr.? What about informed consent?? Was the dr. even on site?? Where is the follow up for questions such as this?? I hope she is just being curious and asking in advance. This is deadly medicine ......not only to her pre born child.....which is the intent I realize but can be to her. Women have bled and died from this form of abortion including one in TN whose symptoms after taking the pill were "blown off" by the people she called following the dosage and it turned out she had an ectopic pregnancy which took her life. So this is a big deal and nothing to be cute about as PP goes to telemed abortions to keep their revenue up.
Some excerpts from the article.
"There is no doctor-patient relationship. There is an Internet conference that lasts just a few minutes. The physician never physically examines the woman. ... Then he never sees her again, even if she has a medical emergency," Sullenger said.
Planned Parenthood's system, the first of its kind in the nation, allows a physician in Des Moines to interact via computer with patients who are seeking abortions in small-town clinics.

Once the doctor is satisfied that the patient meets the criteria, he or she enters a computer command that opens a drawer in front of the patient.
The patient then reaches into the drawer, retrieves the abortion pills and takes the first dose as the doctor watches.

More than 1,500 Iowa patients have used Planned Parenthood of the Heartland's videoconferencing system to obtain abortion drugs in the past two years.

(Prolifer)ations 8-20-10

  • Pro Life Action League discusses how every pro-lifer can make a difference through boycotts. 2 past examples: Urban Outfitters and American Girl.
  • ProWomanProLife invites readers to contribute to an upcoming talk about pro-life myths they have encountered.
  • Wesley J. Smith points out how Princeton’s Prof. Peter Singer “lies by omission” as he tries to justify his comments about infanticide. Singer opts for quality of life over sanctity of life and sees death as preferable when the first is in doubt. He claims, “Since neither a newborn human infant nor a fish is a person, the wrongness of killing such beings is not as great as the wrongness of killing a person.”
  • Sarah Flashing at Flash Point expresses shock that her blog has had visitors from the US Dept. of Justice. Is this accidental or are other conservative bloggers being monitored as well?
  • Suzy B encourages readers to visit their action center to notify legislators of their disapproval of Sen. Roland Burris’ and the Senate Armed Services Committee’s decision to allow elective abortions at military hospitals.

Gossling on air confession of murder appears bogus after lengthy police investigation.

Ray Gossling was arrested for wasting police time after an investigation following an on air confession of murdering a man he described as "my bit on the side" . He claimed in this interview that the unnamed man  was in the final stages of dying from AIDS. He tells of visiting this man in the hospital and asking  the dr. to leave him alone and smothering him with a pillow. No evidence has been found to substantiate this story.
Now the police are charging Gossling with wasting police time which carries a maximum sentence of 6 mos.

Infanticide or Murder....shocking and disturbing story out of New Zealand

Out of New Zealand, this sad story.

A 13 mo. of boy is left unattended in a deep bath for 15 minutes by a mother that is obviously disturbed. As she is on trial the defense is offering the jury the option of infanticide instead of murder. I had to look up the legal terms to understand. I certainly know what murder and infanticide is but under the legal definitions, the jury can find her guilty of infanticide that offers a lesser sentence requirement if the baby is newly born and the mother has shown signs of postpartum depression. Thus a lighter sentence with a max of 5 yrs.

The second story has more detail but omits the age of the child that was drowned which is strange since they talk about the infanticide defense. I would wonder why they did not go straight to the insanity defense as they report that upon finding the baby drowned, she did not call for help but surfed the net and spent time on Facebook with her 5 yr old daughter and dead 13 mo. old son in the house. Sadly the children were removed from the home by their version of Protective Services and returned just two days before the incident.

Her enemies show she is doing something right...

You have to love Sarah...when you look at who hates her.....she sure is doing something right. Yup, those grizzles in the video are for wiping out their grandchildren. And by the way, their costumes look like they came from a garage sale. For those who don't know Emily's list is dedicated to electing abortion minded pols.

I've recently come under attack for speaking up for sisters who seek to serve in public office.... First, ladies, it's hard to take a critic seriously when they lecture you wearing a bear suit. So, it's difficult for me to drum up much outrage at this latest [EMILY's List] ad. But, really, lying about a sister while wearing an Ewok outfit is no way to honor our foremothers on the eve of the 90th anniversary of their victory....
But, that aside, I'd love to know where you got those get-ups. Halloween is just around the corner, and Piper and Trig would look adorable as little grizzly bears....Palin

For such a time as this......

Mark Pickup is a good blog and on my reading list. Today's post was especially touching.
He proudly recounts how his wife stole the show at a recent joint appearance of the National Right to Life conference.
"We dealt with abortion and post abortion grief (we killed our first child by abortion in 1971). We spoke from our personal experiences about the suffering and grief of serious degenerative disability (multiple sclerosis) and how such conditions impact not only individuals but their families. (Unresolved grief often fuels consideration of assisted suicide and euthanasia.)"
Mark  is the one with  multiple sclerosis.  His wife, LaRee spoke from the heart about the abortion, post abortion grief , being the caregiver, how hard it is to watch a  loved one degenerate, their honest feelings about being angry at God .
What  spoke to me is that we often have secret feelings when things go wrong in our life that God is punishing us for past sins, even confessed sins and a feeling of betrayal that goes along with it.
" It seems that LaRee's life experiences have come together for a time such as this."
I agree
