Cafe Mom: Proud of the kids in the video supporting PP stating...I have sex

 Cafe Mom says:
"They're three of the scariest words a teenager can say to a parent. But a video of teenagers (and young adults) proclaiming "I Have Sex" is proof that parents are doing their jobs. Our kids really are all right. "
" I'm proud of them because I was once one of them."
She applauds the video made to protest the defunding push for PP...says she would be proud to call any of these kids her own.....and reading the comments many of those who follow her agree.

A simple resolution or the BEGINNING of a lucrative END???

 Update 3/16/11 3:30 PM
Rep. Matthew Hill (R) Jonesborough offered a straightforward pro life amendment to the resolution, but unfortunately it was voted down on a voice vote by  the majority. HJR 58 resolution is sponsored  by Rep. Tony Shipley(R) of Kingsport.
See video here and discussion of the amendment is  at 28:15.

HJR 58 seems like a simple resolution "encouraging and advocating" the expanded use of telemedicine to deliver healthcare to the areas of our state that are currently underserved by providers. It further states that medical providers should be reimbursed as though the services are delivered in person.

Enter the abortion industry....sensing a cash cow. They see how this can bring "death by Skype." Currently in TN, only a doctor  is authorized to administer abortions. Now a doctor sitting before his computer can administer the chemical abortion, RU 486 with a few clicks of the mouse  all across the state.   To put the icing on the cake, he can have HHS headed by abortion friendly Kathleen Sebelius pay for the equipment for his lucrative telemed abortions with $$ sent from the federal govt. Life is good in the death business.

PP President Richards acknowledged in a speech recently in the state of Iowa that already practices telemed abortions that this plan is going to be spread across the nation in the next five years.
Hear radio spot by   public radio station in IA  discussing  this.

Death by Skype in TN? Be wary the simple resolution....

  • John Smeaton of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, our newest addition to the blog roll, links to a report that China has asked New Zealand to compensate families for the deaths of Chinese students in the recent NZ quake, “because their loss was magnified under China’s one-child policy.” From The UK’s Guardian:
7 Chinese students have been identified among the 166 confirmed deaths in the quake that devastated Christchurch city on Feb. 22, and as many as 20 are still missing.
Chinese Embassy official Cheng Lei said Monday that Chinese quake victims had lost not only their only child but also a future breadwinner.
  • Wesley J. Smith discusses a WSJ book review of Dale Peterson’s The Moral Lives of Animals. Peterson considers human exceptionalism to be “Darwinian narcissism.” Smith responds: … [H]ere is a profound irony: Anti human exceptionalists insist that we are not special – even as they impose self-sacrificing obligations upon us, duties to “the other,” we alone bear. But that very understanding makes us exceptional, no matter what you want to call it. They just want the duties part to apply, without the concomitant rights.
  • Andrea Mrozek at ProWomanProLife notes the mixed messages society sends when we place more value upon animal life than human life, pointing to a news report about a teen who killed a hamster and now faces a potential 2-year prison sentence.
  • Real Choice outlines the details of a 1989 botched abortion leading to the death of 31-year-old Glenda Davis. An interesting note: Glenda had to be wheeled out to a staffer’s car to be transported to the hospital. If clinics met the standards of ambulatory surgical treatment centers (which includes having hallways wide enough for a gurney) might it have made the difference between life and death for Glenda?
  • Priests for Life rejoices that Baby Joseph Maraachli has been transferred from Canada to a St. Louis hospital, thanks to the intervention of Fr. Pavone and countless others.
  • Pro Life Wisconsin says pro-aborts are planning a “Back Up Your Birth Control Day” on March 30th for high school and college students.

Daily Kos advances outrageous and erroneous stories before appeal for $$ for PP

Three outrageous stories by Daily Kos  are followed by a request for donation to who else but Planned Parenthood !  Cherry picking facts, omitting some and emphasizing others  and drawing outrageous conclusions are apparent in this  account.

First story comes from Iowa.  A woman advanced in her pregnancy  presented at the ER after falling  down a flight of stairs .  The Daily Kos indicated she was light headed and accidentally fell. I researched other write ups of this story and in another account states:
"According to police reports, officers were called to the hospital's emergency room after Taylor told a nurse she intentionally fell because she wanted to get rid of her unborn child. She also reportedly told a doctor she did not want the baby"
Now falling intentionally down the stairs could cause harm or death to the woman and as well as the pre born child. If a medical professional thinks you may be suicidal, it is not uncommon for them to call law enforcement and confine you  for psychiatric evaluation. It is legal to mandate a psychiatric evaluation for someone who reported  suicidal actions, in fact to do less could be considered neglect.

Also, feticide( According to Iowa law, feticide occurs when "attempts to intentionally terminate a human pregnancy, with the knowledge and voluntary consent of the pregnant person, after the end of the second trimester of the pregnancy where death of the fetus does not result." ) Later, the charges were dropped when evidence from the  OB-GYN showed she was still in her second trimester (2.5 weeks away from her third trimester) and what is unsaid, is that the subsequent evaluation probably decided that she was not going to harm herself.

Did   the ER act properly when confronted with a woman who appeared advanced in her pregnancy who said she threw herself down the stairs on purpose?  Of course they did. Daily Kos makes the outrageous statement that she was incarcerated for considering abortion earlier in her pregnancy. They ignore the police reports which clearly state she told the ER personnel that the fall was intentional. The reports don't make the story they want to advance. They claim the " anti choice zealots" got her arrested for thinking of having an abortion."

In the second story, further investigation shows that the woman in question was 25 weeks pregnant, a heavy smoker and admitted to the hospital on what turned out to be false labor. Daily Kos advances the story saying she was at the dr.office and he wanted to admit her to the hospital for bed rest when she refused because she had two toddlers and a full time job.   They state she was admitted against her will and forced to undergo unwanted treatments but she miscarried anyway. Reports of the situation state otherwise.
"Circuit Judge John Cooper held an emergency hearing by telephone and ruled after taking testimony from Burton and Bures-Foresthoefel, but without obtaining a second medical opinion. The doctor said Burton's membranes had ruptured, that she was having early contractions and the fetus was in a breech position"
" Three days after the judge ordered her not to leave the hospital, Burton delivered a stillborn fetus by cesarean-section"
Not exactly stating the facts are they?  She was admitted to the hospital first and when she wanted to leave without the doctor's consent, he had the judge intervene. I note that the ACLU sued the state of Fl on her behalf and  lost.

The  third one is about a teen requesting a judicial bypass ion for abortion  in PA and being turned down . Now I know that the abortion industry is used to getting automatic approval in these cases and their own statement ( " ... bypass petitions are rarely denied"). They have their friendlies ready to do so but this judge actually had the audacity to exercise his judgment that she was not informed or mature enough to make this decision without parental involvement. Horrors, parents involved in the decision of a minor child!! They pounced upon his written opinion and point out one sentence that talked of her poor grammar. They try to imply she was denied her right to an abortion because she had  poor grammar.  Not true... but hey, we are advancing an agenda here and trying to raise $$ for the largest abortion provider.
Here is their final statement before the fund raising appeal for PP and link to donate to PP.
"...even if it means confining a woman to a hospital-bed against her will, jailing them for having thought of an abortion, or denying the choice to a teenager because of her grammar."

Unified Patriots: Planned Parenthood’s Mission Statement Exemplified

Cross Posted by Unified Patriots

Planned Parenthood’s Mission Statement Exemplified

With all this talk of defunding Planned Parenthood, they must be having a messaging problem – so thought I would help them out by showing their missionstatement in action:
- to provide comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings which preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual –  even if that means protecting the rights of apparent pimp and their child aged prostitutes!
- to advocate public policies which guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services – like our recommendation to vote no on House Bill 2093 in Illinois that would expand who would be required to report child sex abuse in organizations that provide reproductive health care.  If we have to report a child abuser, then he might get arrested and the steady stream of revenue from his victims disappears. We must stand against this kind of tyranny!
- to provide educational programs which enhance understanding of individual and societal implications of human sexuality  - have you seen our instructional glossary? You’ll discover important terms like the “Free Love Movement” and  you’ll learn how Freud understood all children have strong sexual urges.  If you aren’t into pornography, you may want to skip our glossary. It’ll make you blush. But please make sure to send a link to your impressionable daughter, OK?  Maybe our site forteens is more up your alley. We are arming children with vital information like “hooking up“. Your thirteen old daughter can find out what is considered cheating in a relationship. You won’t be surprised that we think cheating is whatever you think it is: “People have different opinions about what’s considered cheating, so it’s up to partners to decide what the “rules” are for their relationship.”
- to promote research and the advancement of technology in reproductive health care and encourage understanding of their inherent bioethical, behavioral, and social implications – except supporting ultrasound technology. The implication of that kind of technology is clear: ~90% of women who see their baby on an ultrasound choose life. And there goes our abortion money!  What’s that you say? Oh, we  said abortions only account for 3% of our services, so why do we care? Hmmm….
Now, isn’t it time we defund Planned Parenthood?

Priests for Life: Baby Joseph is now in US hospital

I am surprised that Baby Joseph is still living. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a thing of national pride over the best interest of the child. I don't understand why the hospital did not do the trach as the parents requested even though they advised against it. Some reports suggested that they tried to wean him off the vent to no avial but to remove the vent meant a death by choking within minutes. So since death was to be the outcome, why not try the trach? As I understand it everyone understood the condition to be terminal? Do the trach and release him home since the outcome was determined to be  the same anyway?

I remember when my husband was at that point in his illness and they did a procedure on him as a last  resort. There was some discussion  from the medical professionals whether we should do the procedure. I asked if he would die without it and they said yes but he also could die doing it. There was only a slim chance of him living after a  successful procedure anyway. But how can you say no to even a slim chance of survival. I authorized t he procedure and he endured it but died later that night. But had I not tried the the only slim chance, I would have agonized over not trying it. It is a tough place to be. The procedure with Baby Joseph may kill him and sending him home with a trach may only give a few more months of life but turning off the vent will bring death. Their are no villians here...but a hard place to be for sure.

Priests for Life Announces that Baby Joseph is in a hospital in St. Louis following a night of long negotiotions and personal intervention from Father Pavone.

"Priests for Life staff toiled through the night for many nights, working in concert with dozens of people to make this possible," Father Pavone said of the nighttime rescue mission. "Now that we have won the battle against the medical bureaucracy in Canada, the real work of saving Baby Joseph can begin."
Father Pavone said Baby Joseph's transfer was accomplished through the efforts of a number of people, including his parents; family spokesman Sam Sansalone; family attorney Claudio Martini; Bobby Schindler of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Dr. Martin McCaffrey, a neonatologist at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Medical School; the Rev. Pat Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington, D.C., and attorney CeCe Heil from the American Center for Law and Justice, also in D.C. Father Frank also thanked the many other Canadian pro-life groups and individuals who have been consistent and heroic in their advocacy for Baby Joseph and for all the vulnerable."

PP opposes bill to train all staff to report child abuse....

Live Action reports on a bill before IL legislature...that should be a no brainer....but of course you can't make this stuff up with Planned Parenthood...it mandates all staff of Planned Parenthood including volunteers who have knowledge of abuse of minors to report the abuse. But no, we don't want to cause a burden for the dept. charged with investigating child abuse??? Nor do we want to have PP take time to train the people that are charged with working with clients??? Unbelievable!!

"What this means is Planned Parenthood staff including volunteers, front-desk staff (which often willingly offer medical guidance), and other non-licensed office staff are not required to report child sexual abuse when they find out that a child is being abused. Why then is Planned Parenthood opposing this common-sense measure that requires that all Planned Parenthood staff report child sex abuse when made aware of it? Planned Parenthood writes on their website:
HB 2093 requires office staff and volunteers of organizations that provide reproductive health care or sex education to be mandated reporters of child abuse. All doctors, nurses and teachers are already mandated reporters. Therefore, these organizations are already legally required to make reports. This bill creates redundant regulations that have the potential to overload the Department of Children and Family Services.
Source: Planned Parenthood Action Webpage (view screen capture that we took here)
The ACLU, strong backers of abortion, though continues to oppose the child sex abuse reporting bill saying:
Another measure, House Bill 2093, expands mandated reporting of child abuse – already required of every licensed health care professional in the state – to cover every employee or volunteer of any organizations that provides or refers for reproductive health care – creating cumbersome and unnecessary bureaucracy and training requirements for non-profit organizations and diverting time and money from patient care."

Pro Life Debate in Canada: professor advocates allowing abortion up to 18 mos. to 2 yrs.

Article  of a campus debate on the issue of abortion but reading it is shocking when you hear the arguments  representing the pro abortion side.  Stephanie Gray is an articulate pro life young lady who does us proud with her points. But how about this guy who argues that a child should be allowed to be killed until he/she is 18 mos.to 2 years old?

The  same pro abortion defender is a  dedicated vegetarian who objects to killing pigs.  The abortion supporters in the audience were upset that he did not argue with the woman's bodily autonomy arguments but the professor pointed out that he was a published professor and taunted them saying  they could not find anyone who thought that way to stand up to Gray.  It is truly scary that this man is a published professor but maybe his outlandish statements will cause those in the undecided category to consider how illogical the pro abortion side is. So in that sense, the professor did  the pro life community a service. Examine  this excerpts:

Representing the pro-life side of the debate was Stephanie Gray,  ( pictured above) co-founder and executive director of the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform.  Facing Gray was Dr. Mark Mercer, chairperson of the philosophy department at Halifax’s St. Mary’s University, who has in the past won the ire of pro-abortion activists for defending the rights of pro-lifers to express their opinions on university campuses.

Mercer agreed that the unborn are human beings, and that abortion is the deliberate killing of a human being, but argued that the notion of “human being” is not a “morally relevant concept.”  Individuals are not special by virtue of their “species membership,” he said, but become “persons” and worthy of protection because they possess certain “ethically salient properties” such as the ability to experience pain or pleasure, self-consciousness, and rationality.
According to Mercer, a child likely only gains personhood at around 18 months to two years of age, and he also suggested at one point that adult pigs might be persons.A principled vegetarian, he agreed that it could be wrong to kill a pig even though he believes it’s acceptable to kill a child in the womb.

Ottawa: PP fund raiser includes sexy entertainment to raise $$ for abstinence education??

Promo article in Centertown  News (Ottawa) tells us a fund raiser for Planned Parenthood. Pretty typical fare( "A night of sexual satire, burlesque and spoken-word poetry ...including Ménage à Trois: Three’s a Crowd Pleaser from Sexual Overtones and poetry from a PP educator and sex columnist for a site called Apartment 613")but a few things caught my eye.
"Heather Holland, executive director at Planned Parenthood Ottawa, says her organization was very keen to work with the two community groups because they all work to promote sexuality positively.
The groups address sex in a non-judgmental manner, which is important to keeping conversation about sex open, she says."
Again,  pretty standard fare but I remember the words of former PP clinic director and employee of the year, Abby Johnson when she said that PP wants to be non judgmental to the point that sex abuse of minors becomes routine and aiding  people posing as  sex traffickers   are treated like another lifestyle choice. Non judgmental on steroids....
"The money will be used for programming such as Planned Parenthood’s educational theatre troupe support services, which is run by a group of senior students who create, direct and present a play to peers about issues such as body image, pregnancy and abstinence. "
Well this is confusing given the highly sexual nature of the fund raiser....does this really promote abstinence? The other benefit reportedly  is to portray Ottawa's sexy side and when ..."people see us, they think that they can be sexy too" So which is it...non judgmental sex, promote sexiness and abstinence?? Kinda of like the eat all you want diet....doesn't work!!

So I had to go to the website of Apartment 613 to see their take on this event. They are more straightforward about this stating the proceeds supporting PP will go to " education, counseling, and information services they offer around sexual and reproductive health." Yes, that encompasses all their services and in polite speak means the A word.  That is okay because they are up front about their advocacy and this is an adult venue for sure.

I wonder why the sanitized version in the main paper inferring that the event is to raise funds for abstinence education.  Given the events of the fund raiser, it makes this deception ridiculous.
