Administration approves further work on using DNA to create new life forms.

 Report out today   on the Administration stating the "controversial field of synthetic biology, or manipulating the DNA of organisms to forge new life forms, poses limited risks and should be allowed to proceed."

"...scientists seeks ways to create new organisms that could spark useful innovations in clean energy, pollution control and medicine. "

"...many scientists observe that this achievement is not tantamount to 'creating life' in a scientific sense because the research required a functioning, naturally occurring host cell to accept the synthesized genome."

So if they are not playing God by creating life but using a living organism to manipulate the DNA, where did they get the DNA in the first place. And  using DNA to make synthetic forms to help with clean energy and pollution?! Using words like oversight , prudent  and thoughtful deliberation will not disguise this Orwellian concept. BTW, how many billions are being spent on this?
