Read back story on the battle between Bishop Olmstead over Phoenix (pictured)and Catholic Hospital West that has escalated into Twitter/Facebook posting wars...at least between Catholics and the hospital. The saga continues today with the MSM reporting on it.
USA Today filed a story Thursday stating that conversations are ongoing between the Bishop and the Catholic Hospital West. Authorities are confirming the deadline [Dec. 17th] before the Bishop removes the status as a Catholic entity, but declining to publicly comment further. While conversations are ongoing, secular and religious arenas are weighing in. The ACLU is continuing its lawsuit stating the religious hospitals are not "exempt from federal laws that protect a patient's right to receive emergency care" and "Lisa Fullam, professor of moral theology at the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University, blogged at commonwealmagazine.org that the hospital ought to stand up to the bishop" stating he does not have a " copyright to the term under U.S. law."
