NARAL feels VA teens need more protection from parents....

Abortion  promoting Huffington Post  posts an article about their surveillance of VA parental notification laws with regard to the judicial bypass. Everyone knows that abortion mills are all too happy to hand over the  phone numbers of friendly judges that are known to grant automatic bypasses with no questions asked. But NARAL is shocked by the  ignorance of the VA court system....
"In more than a dozen cases, the caller was transferred at least six separate times before speaking to someone who could answer the question..."
Well welcome to the bureaucracy....
"The red tape and lack of information in the courts are particularly troubling for pregnant teenagers who are victims of rape or have life-threatening health conditions. Those girls are supposed to be able to bypass the entire consent process in Virginia, but many are not informed of their legal options and cannot receive straight answers from court employees."
Are you kidding me....NARAL wants minors who have life threatening health conditions or are victims of rape not to inform their parents?? Sure!!!! A minor with a life threatening condition needs to have surgery without parental notification?! Seriously???

Rape victims need referral to the state social services for protection and counseling while the perpetrator needs to be facing prosecution! But not with the abortion industry....the perp pays for the abortion and the abuse continues all without the parents knowledge. Check out Live Action undercover videos to see them in action.
"The teen education effort, called "Pregnant Teen VA," includes resources on the judicial bypass, abortion, adoption, birth control and parenting."
Okay, this one makes me laugh out loud. NARAL wants a confidential judicial bypass so the teen can make adoption plans or plan to parent without the knowledge of their  parents. They really have nerve even suggesting that is their motive. Ya, a teen is going to go through pregnancy and give birth make an adoption plan or choose to parent and their parents will never know!

There is only one reason for NARAL to want a robust bypass notification procedure...to usher minors in for an abortion while still in a crisis mode and send them home to unsuspecting parents to deal with the emotional and physical after effects of a secret surgery. You see the abortion industry knows that if parents get involved it is harder to close the $$$ sale.

They have no shame....but we knew that all along. Wait, this isn't the end of it. I clicked on this so called "professional" site they set up  and saw their inaccurate and outdated adoption language of giving your child up etc.... and they warn against agencies that try to sway your decision. But alas.....their slip of the tongue turns into a slip of keyboard where they say you can abort anytime including after birth.
Yes, we know it is called Live birth abortions

Women may begin the process of abortion any time after they find out they are pregnant, including waiting until after birth. NO adoption is finalized until after the child is born, and you are free to change your mind any time before that. After signing, you may have a short time to change your mind but this will need to be discussed with a lawyer.

Had to get a screen shot of that one...... click to enlarge....

VA health commission resigns over abortion clinic regs in midst of meningitis outbreak

This is not about TN but in a way it is. I have been spending  a lot of time and energy thinking and working in the swing state of VA to turn it  red. This  article caught my eye.

Karen Remley, health commissioner, has resigned her position and stated in her resignation letter  the VA law requiring abortion facilities to meet the specs other ambulatory surgical  treatment centers "compromised her ability to fulfill her duties."
Really?? She has reported that  "all 20 abortion facilities eligible for licensing have been inspected and that plans of correction were received and approved where necessary." Of course the abortion industry objected to the new law saying that coming into compliance would be too costly and may shut some facilities down. The pro life forces say this is necessary to protect the safety of the women seeking surgical abortions. But if the facilities are complying there should be no issue, right?
So what is the problem??? Remley was appointed by the former Gov Tim Kaine(D) who is running for Senate against Republican George Allen. Is this political? Sure seems that way.
"The Family Foundation of Virginia questioned the timing of Remley's announcement, citing the upcoming presidential and Senate elections.

"Twelve medical experts offering a wide range of expertise voted to adopt reasonable abortion center safety standards," Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia, said in a statement.
"The timing of this resignation, less than three weeks before an election where Tim Kaine, the governor who appointed Dr. Remley, and his close political friend Barack Obama, find themselves falling further behind and are desperately trying to wrap themselves around abortion in the misguided belief it will save their campaigns, reeks of political posturing,"
Remley sees fit to resign when their state is responding to a "national outbreak of a rare fungal meningitis in patients who received steroid injections to the spine. Two medical facilities in Southwest Virginia were among more than 70 facilities in 16 states that used the steroid product." Va now has 37 reported cases, the third highest in the nation. Yet, she sees fit to resign over this?? Public servant indeed!!

VA: If women have to get ultrasounds then men have to get rectal exam....

She's so cute....NOT  ....     Ummm Ms. Howell..is someone being killed by his medical issue? Why do you object to a woman having  medically accurate information before she makes a decision that is irreversible. After all they usually do an ultrasound to figure out how far along the pregnancy is so they can figure out which method to use on the little one (English for Fetus). Why deny the women the opportunity to view their little "clump of cells."

"Virginia State Senator Adds Rectal Exam To Abortion Bill

Virginia State Senator Janet Howell says if women are forced to have ultrasounds, men should have equal obligations.
[She] has decided to protest the bill that would require women to have an ultrasound before an abortion with another amendment: require men to receive rectal exams before receiving erectile dysfunction medication, the Washington Post reported.
Howell expressed her disdain for the latest legislation on Monday, and said the amendment was just a matter of fairness between genders. Her amendment states before a man is treated for erectile dysfunction they must undergo a cardiac stress test and a digital rectal exam."

VA PP: advising of free testing and treatment at health dept. even though PP collects $MM in Title X money to do it.

Listen carefully to the so called "professional" staffer in the undercover video in Roanoke, VA. Starting at 8:53 she informs him that he can get STD testing and treatment  free at the health dept. She points out that if they test and he is positive they are supposed to report it to the health dept. who contacts you to discuss who your partners were etc. so  why not go there and get free testing and treatment.

Then she goes on to tell him that another source of free testing is donation of blood. They test to screen for STD routinely so that is another free source. Per Live Action who called several blood donation centers to inquire about this advice, they were told that if you test positive they simply tell you that you were ineligible for blood donation without giving you specifics as to why and understandably are not happy with being used in this manner.

But here is my real rub with this.....I finished the Vigil for Victims today at our local PP in Nashville to defund PP. As I  told the news person covering the event...PP gets $363MM/yr. in our tax dollars. Now they will say that it is to do STD testing and provide BC. But hey, this PP staffer is telling the man that he can get this all free at the local health dept. or free testing when you go to give blood. Which brings up my point. County health depts. should be the ones to get  all the Title X monies since they do free testing and treatment. Notice the PP staffer said we have to charge while you can get it for free there.

Just another  example of  their institution corruption!

Live Action: Albemarle Police: We Have No Record of Child Sex Abuse Report From Planned Parenthood

Cross Posted on Live Action.org

On January 11th Live Action conducted an undercover investigation of a Charlottesville, Virginia Planned Parenthood clinic. Our undercover reporter posed as a man who ran an international child sex ring and inquired about getting sexual health services for the girls he manages that were as young as 14. The investigation was to test whether Planned Parenthood would promptly report the suspected sex ring to law enforcement.
Planned Parenthood claims that they reported the incident to local law enforcement according a News Virginian report. But that same article also states that:
Albemarle police Sgt. Darrell Byers that he knew of no one in his department who received information about the “fake patient.” He said it was possible the workers could have called but that no report was made.
  • Did Planned Parenthood make a false claim that they had reported the incident?
  • Did they attempt to report the incident but fail to convey the gravity of the situation?
It is hard to imagine that Planned Parenthood would have been able to report an international child sex ring without a report being made. These revelations show once again the need for a serious investigation into Planned Parenthood’s child sex abuse reporting procedures.

WA TIMES EDITORIAL : Regulating abortion clinics Virginia AG Cuccinelli tries to clean up a dirty business

Good editorial in Washington Times on this issue

The usual tactic of getting around having to regulate their abortuary is to say that it is a doctor's office that does many things and just one of those include abortions. They may advertise that they do well women checkups, birth control, and STD testing as well. There is no doubt that abortions are their main business but with no inspection that has to be proven. In TN, the courts have declined to enter into the fray that the majority of their business constitutes abortion and ACLU is quick to protect them from mandatory regs. so in abortions mills it is let the buyer beware!

From the editorial:

"Liberals usually want to regulate everything that breathes, moves, burns, flows or produces. When it comes to abortion mills, however, the same leftists scream bloody murder - not against killing babies, but against daring to regulate the practice even for the mother's safety."

"Those who oppose this regulatory authority haven't explained how ensuring safety could be unlawful."

Abortion advocates stoke fears in Virginia

By: Cheryl K. Chumley
Special to The Examiner

A controversy is brewing in Virginia over the future fate of a woman’s right to choose, but criticisms from the pro-choice crowd are largely unfounded – and some may have even taken a sharp turn down Crazy Lane.
Explaining that abortion is a court-ruled woman’s right that should not be infringed is one argument. Telling the attorney general of Virginia to “get your cross out of my crotch,” according to this rant from the aptly named EnoughisEnough1 – if it’s not been deleted, it’s at the bottom of the Washington Post blog entry -- is quite different and really, one has to wonder what medicines have gone missing from that commenter’s cabinet. Does that really help the pro-choice cause?
The comments stem from a recent opinion of the attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli that states the Commonwealth “has the authority to promulgate regulations for facilities in which first trimester abortions are performed, as well as for providers of first trimester abortions, so long as the regulations adhere to constitutional limitations.” From that come headlines like “Cuccinelli goes after state abortion providers” or claims, like the one from NARAL Pro-Choice America, that Cuccinelli is taking on abortion providers with the ultimate goals of closing abortion clinics.
The truth, however, is far less shocking.
Cuccinelli’s opinion simply states the state has the right, as based on analysis of legal precedents, to regulate the safety and medical practices of abortion clinics and physicians who perform the procedure – in a manner that’s similar to how other medical facilities in the commonwealth are monitored. For instance, right now in Virginia, “first-trimester abortions are not required to be performed in licensed hospitals” that are subject to state standards for staffing, for sterile equipment, for how operations are conducted, according to Cuccinelli’s opinion. A facility can dodge state licensing requirements completely by simply calling itself a physician’s office and providing solely services that focus on reproduction.
That may be a plus for women seeking speedy access to abortions, but if safety and welfare of the patient is also a health care priority, suddenly Cuccinelli’s opinion doesn’t seem so radical.
NARAL would have the public believe that 17 of the 21 state clinics that offer abortion services would close, due to Cuccinelli’s opinion and ensuing new regulations that could result. But if that’s true – isn’t that just making the case that these clinics are presently sub-par in the area of health standards?

VA: Abortion facilites must be regulated : Abortion industry $$ objects

Virginia, Attorney General Ken Cuccinell has issued an opinion that abortion facilities should be regulated reports the Washington Post.
"The state has long regulated outpatient surgical facilities and personnel to ensure a certain level of protection for patients,'' he said. "There is no reason to hold facilities providing abortion services to any lesser standard for their patients. Even pharmacies, funeral homes, and veterinary clinics are regulated by the state."

"Abortion providers fear that clinics won't be able to afford the costs of making the changes and will shut down or increase their prices. Keene said if the Board of Health imposes the restrictions, 17 of the 21 abortion providers in the state would most likely have to close their doors."
Good for Va, TN needs to follow suit. Just imagine that in VA 17 out of 21 providers would not meet the standards that even vet offices must meet. The abortion industry $$ cares about the safety and health of women....NOT.  They should welcome this instead of fighting it. This tells a lot about them, doesn't it?
In TN, when they try to get the abortion facilities regulated, the ACLU goes to court to help them fight against it  and to date they have been successful.  You would be safer in the vets office.
