Obama silence on Kermit Gosnell is telling....

Cross Posted at Jill Stanek.com

by Kelli

… [W]hen it comes to commenting on domestic scandals, President Obama will never live down his cowardly refusal to speak out against Kermit Gosnell. Here was a man who, for thirty years, murdered black infants in his Philadelphia abortion clinic, while his activities were allowed to continue because of the complacency and tacit approval of local, state, and federal agencies. Here was a man who segregated his waiting room by race, and gave better, safer treatment to white patients. Here was a man involved in a murderous scandal that implicated — and still implicates — every level of political authority, and resulted in hundreds of born infants being decapitated, stabbed, and drowned in toilets.

What did Obama say about it?…

“I can’t comment.”…

Forget everything else the man has done. Forget everything else he’s said. All you need to know about Barack Obama the man, and Barack Obama the President, can be summed up by the fact that he immediately and forcefully commented when a black Harvard professor was arrested by a white cop; he immediately and forcefully commented when a black teenager was killed by a Hispanic neighborhood watchman; and he immediately and forcefully commented when a white NBA owner allegedly made some insulting comments about black people — but when an abortionist was allowed to murder black infants for thirty years in the middle of an American city, he said nothing.

In all three of the cases where he did comment, the facts weren’t yet fully known, and the incident had no relevance outside of the area where it occurred. In Gosnell’s case, the facts were established, and the incident encompassed a wide range of local, state, and federal authorities. Yet on the first three he pounced, while on the last case he ran for the hills.

That’s all you need to know about Barack Obama.

VA health commission resigns over abortion clinic regs in midst of meningitis outbreak

This is not about TN but in a way it is. I have been spending  a lot of time and energy thinking and working in the swing state of VA to turn it  red. This  article caught my eye.

Karen Remley, health commissioner, has resigned her position and stated in her resignation letter  the VA law requiring abortion facilities to meet the specs other ambulatory surgical  treatment centers "compromised her ability to fulfill her duties."
Really?? She has reported that  "all 20 abortion facilities eligible for licensing have been inspected and that plans of correction were received and approved where necessary." Of course the abortion industry objected to the new law saying that coming into compliance would be too costly and may shut some facilities down. The pro life forces say this is necessary to protect the safety of the women seeking surgical abortions. But if the facilities are complying there should be no issue, right?
So what is the problem??? Remley was appointed by the former Gov Tim Kaine(D) who is running for Senate against Republican George Allen. Is this political? Sure seems that way.
"The Family Foundation of Virginia questioned the timing of Remley's announcement, citing the upcoming presidential and Senate elections.

"Twelve medical experts offering a wide range of expertise voted to adopt reasonable abortion center safety standards," Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia, said in a statement.
"The timing of this resignation, less than three weeks before an election where Tim Kaine, the governor who appointed Dr. Remley, and his close political friend Barack Obama, find themselves falling further behind and are desperately trying to wrap themselves around abortion in the misguided belief it will save their campaigns, reeks of political posturing,"
Remley sees fit to resign when their state is responding to a "national outbreak of a rare fungal meningitis in patients who received steroid injections to the spine. Two medical facilities in Southwest Virginia were among more than 70 facilities in 16 states that used the steroid product." Va now has 37 reported cases, the third highest in the nation. Yet, she sees fit to resign over this?? Public servant indeed!!

Stanek: Akin’s opposition to rape exception vs. Obama’s support of infanticide

From Jill Stanek.com

Jill is off on tour...prayers for her success...telling people about the most pro abortion president in history who defended live birth abortions on the floor of the IL Senate. This time he did not vote present. He is dangerous....Jill has battled him and seen him up close and personal.  For such a time as this......Jill has been called. Proud to do my small part by writing Pro Life Blog Buzz twice a week.

(HT to Erick Erickson at RedState.com for the headline. I’ll get to Erick’s excellent post in a sec.)
Right now I am in Sioux City, Iowa, preparing to begin a 10 day, 30 city, 6 state bus tour today with the Susan B. Anthony List team.
My entire focus and role on the tour is to expose Barack Obama’s radical support of infanticide as part and parcel of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion, as he saw it and said it. As Illinois state senator Obama opposed the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act, designed to give abortion survivors constitutional rights. Obama said giving premature born babies rights would be unconstitutional. Period. That’s what he said. Read page 86 of the senate floor transcript, when Obama was the only senator to speak against Born Alive. Read what Obama said very carefully:
Whenever we define a pre-viable fetus as a person that is protected by the Equal Protection Clause or other elements of the Constitution, what we’re really saying is, in fact, that they are persons that are entitled to the kinds of protections that would be provided to a – a child, a 9-month-old – child that was delivered to term.
That determination then, essentially, if it was accepted by a court, would forbid abortions to take place. I mean, it – it would essentially bar abortions, because the Equal Protection Clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an anti-abortion statute. For that purpose, I think it would probably be found unconstitutional.
Obama’s support of abortion to the point of condoning infanticide could not be clearer. It is grotesque, barbaric, sick and yes, crazy. It is the radical belief of our current president of the United States.
And the press continues to minimize, distort, rationalize, or ignore it, because the press is pro-abortion and likes Obama.
But the press will take a guy who believes babies shouldn’t be murdered because their fathers are rapists and call that guy grotesque, barbaric, sick, and crazy.
Which brings us to Missouri U.S. Senate Republican hopeful Todd Akin, who admirably opposes a rape/incest exception for abortion but who explained his position Sunday in a way that appeared calloused toward rape victims. Wrote Erickson in a great piece this morning:
Todd Akin, the Republican Senate nominee in Missouri, made an inarticulate and rather dumb statement about rape and abortion on television in Missouri. He subsequently clarified his remarks. Congressman Akin, like many devout Christians, does not believe in a rape exception for abortion.
Naturally, the very same left that gave Joe Biden a pass on his “put y’all back in chains” comment is horri[fie]d by Todd Akin’s remarks.
Todd Akin was inarticulate. Some are now accusing him of being pro-rape. The people horri[fie]d by Todd Akin’s remarks are, I’m sure, thrilled to have a President who defended infanticide. I’ll take Todd Akin’s inarticulate remarks over an infanticide supporter any day of the week.

Stanek: Multiple mistakes about Obama and the Born Alive Act in new book, “The Amateur”

Cross Posted at Jill Stanek.com

Everyone needs to read this and understand just how radical Obama is....

Edward Klein’s unauthorized biography of Barack Obama, The Amateur, was released yesterday.
While I appreciate that Klein devoted a chapter of his book, albeit only three pages, to Obama’s opposition as state senator to the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act, he got it pretty much all wrong. You can read the chapter at the link above, but here is the relevant section:
Obama did, however, have an interest in opposing a law that would have banned late-term partial birth abortions, a gruesome procedure that was once condemned by the late New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan as “too close to infanticide.” All across the state of Illinois, people were riveted by the controversial debate. The Chicago Sun-Times ran a cartoon showing God reaching down from heaven to a baby in front of Obama, who is holding a sign that reads “Live Birth Abortions” and yelling at God, “You keep out of this!”

An Illinois nurse named Jill Stanek testified before the Health and Human Services Committee that she had discovered that babies were being aborted alive and allowed to die in soiled utility rooms. One baby was accidentally thrown into the trash. Though Obama never showed up at the committee hearings, he voted against the bill – not once, but twice.
When, after a decade in the political wilderness, Illinois Democrats gained a majority in the legislature, Obama became chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee. As chairman, he prevented the “Live Baby Bill” from getting a committee hearing, guaranteeing that the legislation would die, much as the late-term babies were dying in the state’s hospitals.
People often get details about this chain of events wrong. For many years I, myself, thought Obama voted against the Born Alive Act three times, when it was actually four. It doesn’t help that the Obama campaign and liberals persistently try to muddy the waters.
But Klein’s portrayal of events was wrong on just about every point. I expected better from the former editor-in-chief of The New York Times Magazine, who has also had many books on the NYT bestseller’s list.
First and foremost, at issue was the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, not the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, which Obama also opposed as state senator but had to do with a different abortion procedure.
And, as previously stated, Obama voted against the Born Alive bill a total of four times, not two.
But my biggest issue is Klein’s conjecture that Obama did not attend the committee hearings on Born Alive. I’ve never heard that before. I have previously written about an exchange between Obama and me at one of those hearings, so to say Obama wasn’t even in the room inadvertently calls my portrayal of events into question.
The quickest refutation to that claim is Obama’s committee votes on Born Alive (here, here, and here). Substitutes are noted in Illinois, and Obama had no substitutes. He was there to vote.
In addition, State Net, a branch of LexisNexis that has reporters memorialize state legislative committee hearings, published notes about our March 5, 2002, debate, which was quite an odd one. Click to enlarge…

I should note this conversation was about a companion bill to Born Alive, which would have mandated that a second doctor be present in the event any baby was anticipated to be born alive in the State of Illinois.
As I testified, current Illinois law allowed (and still allows) the abortionist to determine before a baby is born whether s/he thinks the baby will be viable. It is easy to see why the person being paid to deliver a dead baby would do all s/he could to ensure that outcome, even if slightly delayed. Obama didn’t believe an abortionist would stoop that low. Pro-lifers do. It makes total sense. Kermit Gosnell proved our point.
But what made the conversation odd was Obama’s statement, “I agreed with you last year and we suggested that there be a Comfort Room or something of that nature be done.”
In fact, Obama hadn’t said anything the year before (see StateNet’s notes here and here), and now he wanted to take partial credit for devising the Comfort Room?
The concept of such a room was so twisted. Rather than take abortion survivors to the Soiled Utility Room, nurses now took them to a room where they could have photos and footprints taken as keepsakes. And Obama was all in. (See more photos of the Christ Hospital’s Comfort Room here.)
At any rate, Klein got the story all wrong. I’ve been reading his book and find it interesting but wonder how much of it is accurate, if this was any indication

Obama video: Obama doesn't mind using the churches for him...Become a congregation captain for me!!!!!

Wow, POTUS like to use churches to advance his election...this article points it out well. Congregation captains!!!!!! Where is the ACLU when you need them.

"Not only is Obama playing the race card in an attempt to pressure black Americans into voting for him, he is also violating the separation between church and state. In the video promo for the campaign, Obama urges black people to pressure churches into supporting his administration by getting his message out via “the faith community”. He also calls on voters to become “congregation captains”."

Obama cuts $$ to Community Health Centers providing actual care but refuses to touch PP

Daily Caller calls out Obama on the duplicity of throwing Community Health Centers under the bus to save the sacred cow of Planned Parenthood.

"The American Principles Project (APP) Wednesday criticized the Obama administration for allowing the elimination of $600 million for Community Health Centers while protecting funding for Planned Parenthood as part of last week’s budget deal agreed to by Congress and the White House.
Community Health Centers, which do not perform abortions, provide health services to the needy — including mammograms and pre- and post-natal care."

Jeremiah: WH phone call objecting to honest opinion in interview...

David Jeremiah has fought two battles with cancer in the 1990's,  so a phone call from the White House liaison to POTUS objecting to his expressing his opinion in a radio interview hardly gets his blood pressure up.  Jeremiah was being interviewed on a radio program regarding his new book The Coming Economical Armageddon: What Bible Prophecy Warns about the New Global Economy. He was asked a question and gave an honest answer about his opinion of Obama and his policies.
In that interview, Jeremiah was asked about the direction the country is going under Barack Obama's leadership.

"I do not believe he has been an asset to our country; I don't believe he's moved us forward in a good direction, and frankly, I am praying, along with many other believers, that in this mid-term election we will find a way to slow down this train that seems to be moving us toward socialism and away from our historical moorings," Dr. Jeremiah explained. "I'm really frightened about that, and I think in that respect, I believe he's a dangerous person."

So as with Juan Williams, he finds  expressing your honest opinion gets you in trouble. Joshua DuBois, Obama's liaison to the faith based community  gets his daily Google search on people who do not fall into the "thrill up my leg "  when POTUS  speaks category and calls Jeremiah. Jeremiah does not fall on the altar of I didn't mean it and agrees to disagree with Mr. D on this issue but releases a gracious statement.

"In this important dialogue about the future of our country and the resolution of the issues that we are currently facing as a nation, there must be room for criticism and debate, and each of us should feel the responsibility to speak out. Joshua knows of my concerns and left the door open for further discussions in the future."

"Please remember to pray for our nation and for our president!"

As one interview with Jeremiah is titled ....God is everything I need... he is a man  not afraid to speak his mind  as cancer and the White House do  not scare him. What I find interesting is that the WH employs people to monitor anyone who does not fall at the altar of the POTUS.  How much longer until we cannot publicly state our honest opinion?  After all it is an opinion and you can take it or leave it. The White House obviously feels it is important to nip those opinions in the bud lest others start to notice that the emperor has no clothes.

One News: Obama pay grade has gone up......

Barack Obama talk From OneNewsNow.com
Peter Heck - Guest Columnist - 10/25/2010 10:00:00 AM

Evidently his pay grade has gone up.  That was the astute observation of Keith Riler when he analyzed President Barack Obama's recent remarks at MTV's hour-long campaign commercial for Democrats called, "A Conversation with President Obama."

As an aside, imagine for a second MTV hosting such a conversation with former President George W. Bush.  Perhaps they could have booked Kanye West to emcee.  After slurring together a collection of incoherent ideas in his trademark fashion, West could have worked his infamous "George Bush doesn't care about black people" accusation into the presidential introduction.  It would have been far more entertaining than the Obama love-a-thon turned out to be.

But I digress.

Taking a question on sexuality (this is MTV after all), President Obama enlightened listeners with his dazzling grasp of prenatal development.  He was asked, "Dear President Obama, do you think being gay or trans[gender] is a choice?"  The President responded, "I don't think it's a choice. I think that people are born with a certain makeup, and that we're all children of God. We don't make determinations about who we love. And that's why I think that discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is wrong."

Given that such an answer is totally vacuous, dim, and void of anything even resembling rationality, it played well on MTV.  But for the rest of us, consider the implications of this foolish answer.

Even ignoring the meaningless platitude that "we're all children of God" (do those with moral objections to homosexuality not believe this also?), the stunningly ignorant remark that we don't determine who we love (don't you bet Michelle loved hearing that?), and the impossibly relativistic condemnation of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation (does Obama really want to defend the idea of sexual anarchy?), there is an appalling inconsistency in the President's position.

POTUS: Believes in the Decalaration but what about the Creator?

 Update again 10-26-10....
Obama has since restored his use of “Creator” after several media outlets drew attention to his misstatements.
Update: OnenewsNow Story: points out that there have been three times in the last month that the POTUS misquoted the Declaration.
This is the third time in just over a month that the President of the United States has left out the word "Creator" when referring to the unalienable rights granted to Americans in the Declaration. The first incident was at an event for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. The second was at a fundraiser in New York City. The third time occurred this week in Maryland, during a speech before Democratic Senate candidate donors.

Catholic Vote.org posts this piece that is really scary and thought provoking..."Obama continues his quiet war on “the Creator.”  This hasn't gotten a lot of chatter but POTUS twice misquoted the Declaration of Independence to leave out mention of Creator.

Published  text of the second time shows that it is deliberate. "For without the Creator the creature would disappear”. The authors of the Declaration of Independence understood this."

When questioned about this his press secretary, he answered that the POTUS believes in the declaration! This has implications on the sanctity of human life and reveals his thinking on the whole issue of life.

Chicago nun: Sorry for 'pro-abortion' vs. 'pro-choice' comment

BHO sure has these nuns brainwashed. Nuns used to be so strong in the faith but I am shocked to see them leading the liberal fight and siding with the most pro abortion president in history and literally throwing the babies under the bus. Glad she was reprimanded. Time for the church to stand up not blend in. She is from Chicago...doesn't she remember how BHO opposed and spoke against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act to save babies that survive botched abortions.

Baird had set off a firestorm among abortion opponents

April 8, 2010
The Chicago nun who oversees the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office for Racial Justice is apologizing for a comment she made making a distinction between being “pro-abortion” and “pro-choice.”
Sister Anita Baird had set off a firestorm among Roman Catholics who oppose abortion when she was quoted in a story on the anti-abortion Web site LifeSiteNews.com as saying:
The president is not pro-abortion. The president is pro-choice. I think they are two very different things. To be pro-abortion is that you believe in abortion and you support it. And I don’t think you’ll find that the president has ever said that.”
Now, the archdiocese has posted a statement from Baird on its Web site in which she renounces her previous comments.
I am affirming my belief in the teachings of the Catholic Church and understand that there can be no distinction between pro-abortion and pro-choice because the choice at issue is the choice to kill a child,” Baird said. “I also apologize to those who were scandalized by my statement.”

Her original comments in the story that appeared Tuesday on LifeSiteNews.com created an uproar in the anti-abortion world and have bounced around the blogosphere.
Baird could not be reached for comment today. '
Her office already was in the news for honoring — with Cardinal Francis George’s blessing — the Rev. Michael Pfleger, an activist-priest who’s been a target of some religious conservatives for his backing of Obama and his inflammatory, racially tinged comments during the election about now-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Barack Obama v. Canada on Abortion......Oh Canada

In TN, the House had a summer study session on reducing infant mortality and surprisingly enough they had a serious presentation from Planned Parenthood! Now PP makes a profit from killing infants in the womb! Why are they invited to a study committee regarding REDUCING infant mortality. Perhaps the sponsor who invited them Rep. Jeannie Richardson (D) from West TN thought it meant reducing infants. Read the back story on the issue between the U. S. and Canada/

From: jeffords.blogspot.com

As if Barack Obama has not jabbed at American allies enough over petty disputes, he has now added Canada to the list. Canada is head of the G8 this year. Prime Minister Stephen Harper wants to begin an initiative to combat child and maternal mortality. The catch is he does not want to include abortion into the initiative because…well, killing infants does not exactly help reduce the infant mortality rate. Abortion is also four times deadlier than childbirth, so supporting abortions is counter intuitive to reducing maternal mortality, as well. But this is Mr. Opposed Born Alive Legislation we are talking about here. Under no circumstances, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as informed the prime minister’s office, will the United States support any infant and maternal mortality rate initiative that does not include contraceptives, family planning, and access to legal abortion. Because you cannot reduce the infant and maternal mortality rate without the ease of access to…kill infants and mothers. ama v. Canada on Abortion.

Abortion Changes You....winning the ad wars in the Big Apple

This is one of the excellent ads that are now appearing in subways in New York City....excellent! Go to abortionchangesyou.com. New York Times writes an article panning these because they find it not neutral on the issue. Post abortion healing....doesn't fit their agenda...They then go on to praise a website called prolifeproobama.com that gives all kinds of propaganda about how you can support the most pro abortion president, one who does not mind bringing death to babies who survive a late term abortion and favors partial birth abortion but alas wants to reduce the number of abortions by a plethora of social programs. That's what appeals to them. Let's reduce the need for killing and not condemn the killing. Anyway, back to the wonderful thought provoking ads. Go to abortionchanges.com. Great website.
