"it's a mystery, it's magic, it's divinity...."
Very surprised to see this article in the liberal Huffington Post with this wonderful video and this quote.
"In more than a dozen cases, the caller was transferred at least six separate times before speaking to someone who could answer the question..."Well welcome to the bureaucracy....
"The red tape and lack of information in the courts are particularly troubling for pregnant teenagers who are victims of rape or have life-threatening health conditions. Those girls are supposed to be able to bypass the entire consent process in Virginia, but many are not informed of their legal options and cannot receive straight answers from court employees."Are you kidding me....NARAL wants minors who have life threatening health conditions or are victims of rape not to inform their parents?? Sure!!!! A minor with a life threatening condition needs to have surgery without parental notification?! Seriously???
"The teen education effort, called "Pregnant Teen VA," includes resources on the judicial bypass, abortion, adoption, birth control and parenting."Okay, this one makes me laugh out loud. NARAL wants a confidential judicial bypass so the teen can make adoption plans or plan to parent without the knowledge of their parents. They really have nerve even suggesting that is their motive. Ya, a teen is going to go through pregnancy and give birth make an adoption plan or choose to parent and their parents will never know!
" While Planned Parenthood condemns seeking abortions on the basis of the gender of the fetus, Cooney said the provider is also "committed to providing high-quality, confidential, nonjudgmental care to all who come into our health centers." While Planned Parenthood staffers are extensively trained to answer unusual and difficult questions and to refer women to necessary counseling, none of its clinics will deny a woman an abortion based on her reasons for wanting one, except in those states that explicitly prohibit sex-selection abortion (Arizona, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Illinois). So did they not just state that they will abort for any reason or no reason except where prohibited by law and I am sure they will find a way to have some "judicial bypass" around that as well. And if it rarely happens why did four states just outlaw it? So why would they fear undercover videos that show what they just admitted to. Did they not just acknowledge ...if you have the $$, they will abort. Why waste their time attacking Live Action for uncovering this? Their spin machine is working overtime.
"Tragically, the doctor's blunder meant that the woman had to undergo a three-hour emergency caesarean to deliver the sick foetus, where it was later terminated."
"In the end, one can only feel sorrow for this fanciful movement that is based on pure fantasy. It exists to restore an idealized version of the 1950s family that never existed. It contorts and distorts history to turn our founding fathers into false idols whose words and views are as inerrant as their Bible"
It must be exceedingly difficult for this movement to swallow, but we have surely reached a point where the strikingly bizarre behavior displayed at this rally is significantly weirder to most Americans than floats at gay pride parades.Maybe the writer should have actually joined the 24 hour prayer and fast and maybe, just maybe... he would begin to understand. Congratulations to Lou Engle...he has them running scared.
"I met a woman who had been forced to have an abortion when a sonogram showed that her fetus had no heartbeat" (....so this would be a miscarriage...not an abortion. Funny she fails to cite one example of abort ion for any other reason)
They seem to be under the misguided notion that Planned Parenthood is an abortion provider. (....well since they report that their latest report of 2008 -they are always late in getting this report out...that they did 324,000++ abortions...so ya, we think they are the largest abortion provider because they are!!)
I became pregnant with a dearly wanted baby while working for Planned Parenthood and still recall how joyous everyone was for me as my belly grew. (Notice the wanted part...if this was an unplanned pregnancy and she choose abortion it would still have been a baby...but they would have been equally happy I'm sure)
I urge men with unresolved feelings about women to stay out of the health care decisions we make.....(excuse me but the father of the child has a stake in the life of his baby....this does not mean they have unresolved feelings about women.)I wonder if she was equally proud of Planned Parenthood as she watched 3 years of undercover videos covering 11 states where PP was shown to be guilty of covering up statutory rape and aiding and abetting people reporting to be sex trafficking of underage girls brought into the country illegally.
"..."Republicans are trying to demonize women by describing faceless procedures with no real life consequences. And what Representative Speier did yesterday was make that impossible. She put a human face on a real life choice. It' much harder to demagogue that."
"Increasingly, pro-choice activists are noting the political downside of relegating men to second-class status in abortion discourse. As Amanda Marcotte, a Pandragon.net blogger, recently told Newsweek: "When the anti-choice side pulls energy from both men and women who are eager to halt sexual liberation and control female bodies, and pro-choicers can only look to women, we're already running at half capacity."
Appel further states " the frequent claim that it's sexist to pay for ED drugs, but not pregnancy termination, or even women's contraceptives, is so deeply illogical and philosophically simplistic that it actually adds to the challenge of making the case for public funding."
"Pro-choice men have been effectively neutered by the feminists. Now that they've created an army of lap dogs, they decide that they really want attack dogs. It's easier being a pro-life male. We get to be and act like men ought. And we get great women who aren't at war with their own nature, which means they aren't at war with the men who complement that nature and whose nature is complemented by women's.Maybe left-leaning guys are waking up."
