Four dead baby boys...two mothers facing different reactions?????
What's the difference here?
I can't help but think of two recent stories......one in Hendersonville, TN where a woman delivered twin boys and suffocated them. She hid their bodies in the bathroom of her parents home. She was arrested and is now out on bail and awaiting trial for the killing of her twins. Public reaction is shock and anger toward this woman.
The latest story out of Australia of a woman who carried twin boys until 32 weeks gestation (full term is 40 weeks). The dr. diagnoses one twin with a congenital heart defect and she agrees to a late term abortion by means of lethal injection. The dr. makes an error and gives the lethal injection to the healthy baby and then performs a Cesarean section operation to terminate the unhealthy one. Public reaction is one of sympathy for the woman and she is considering a lawsuit against the hospital for the error.
Four babies are dead.....two mothers facing different public reactions? Can someone explain this?

Australian tragedy: Pregnant with twins now childless by "choice"
Horrible story out of Melbourne....
A woman pregnant with twins at 32 weeks gestation got the news that one of her twins is diagnosed with a serious heart condition. She apparently was strongly encouraged to abort and went with the recommendation. How awful..... well it gets worse.
The doctor performing the abortion injects the wrong twin killing the healthy one. Picture this for a moment before we go any further. At this stage of pregnancy, the method of abortion is an intracardiac injection of medication into the fetal heart.
Now the doctor delivers the unhealthy baby by cesearean section and per the article from the UK version of the Huffington Post.
This would be a live birth abortion. Now the article focuses on sympathy for the couple who were expecting twin boys and are now childless by "choice."
In case you are thinking this cannot happen here....I personally know a couple pregnant with twins when a well known high risk specialist in Nashville advised abortion on one of the twins diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. They refused. If they had followed his recommendation, they would have aborted the healthy twin because his diagnosis was correct but he identified the smaller baby has the one with CP when it was the larger twin. BTW, the CP twin boy is now in college....so glad they rejected abortion.

"Tragically, the doctor's blunder meant that the woman had to undergo a three-hour emergency caesarean to deliver the sick foetus, where it was later terminated."

Twin selective reduction or "partial abortion"
Pro Life Pro Woman features
a great article that shows that printing of stories about abortions actually do
change minds and hearts. The story being referenced was
about a Canadian couple pregnant with twins that used selective reduction
because having twins was not compatible with their lifestyle. This prompted
such an outrage from readers even some declaring that their previously
pro choice opinion had been changed. One reader took the language to task
stating that this was not a selective reduction but a "partial
abortion."
