PP in WI: discontinues chemical abortions when law mandates following FDA protocol...

Cross Posted at Wisconsin Right to Life.....Good work. The cheerleaders for the abortion industry will cry a river over this saying it is unnecessary....well take it up withe the FDA...note that per the protocol put out by the FDA is 3-4 separate visits with a doctor.  Sorry to inconvenience you but not that number of deaths and adverse incidents with the use of this killer drug. It is not a magic pill.....

WI Right to Life Applauds Suspension of RU 486 Abortions. Suspension Likely to Spur Decline in Wisconsin Abortions

In a true victory for Wisconsin women, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin announced that it is suspending dangerous RU 486 chemical abortions because of the new law, Act 217,  which takes effect today. The FDA reports that 14 American women have died during RU 486 abortions and there were over 2,200 adverse incidents for women through use of this drug.
Act 217, the Coercive and Web Cam Abortion Prevention Act, requires the abortionist to determine if a woman is being coerced into having an abortion and prohibits web cam RU 486 abortions.   The purpose of the law is to ensure the health and safety of women in these situations.
Wisconsin Right to Life was the major organizational force behind the enactment of the law.
People mistakenly believe that women who have chemical abortions pop a pill and, magically, they are no longer pregnant.   Yet, FDA protocol for use of this two-drug regime is three to four visits to a doctor with close supervision.  “With the advent of web cam abortions, now taking place at Planned Parenthood clinics in Iowa and Minnesota, instead of this close supervision, women discuss their abortion over a web cam without a physical exam by a doctor.  Planned Parenthood envisions bringing web cam RU 486 abortions into local communities.  But now, not in Wisconsin, thanks to Act 217.   And, because chemical abortions comprise 26% of Wisconsin abortions, their suspension will result in another decline in Wisconsin abortions which is great news for mothers and babies.
Opponents of Act 217 complain that the requirement of a private discussion with the woman to learn if she is being coerced is somehow detrimental.  Yet, women who are coerced are many times accompanied to the abortion clinic by the person doing the coercing who want to make sure she has the abortion.  This common sense law protects women at a time when it is most needed and provides help if she is a potential or real victim of domestic abuse.
Wisconsin Right to Life applauds Senator Mary Lazich, Rep. Michelle Litjens and the state legislature for passing this important bill and Governor Scott Walker for signing it into law.

WI: Badger state votes down bill banning forced abortions....

Update: Good news today out of WI...the bill passed. Yesterday the Dems blocked it but today was a different story. Congrats to the pro life legislators.  Good for WI and abortion vulnerable girls/women.

Okay, I know this is Pro Life in TN but I always watch what is going on in my home state  of WI.

E gads, now the WI state Dems have just voted down a bill  that would have prevented  coerced abortions and required that a dr. be physically present to administer the abortion drug that has killed 14 American women so far. So are they saying they are okay with forced abortions and the safety of the woman taking RU486 can be shrugged off in favor of profit !!!

"RU 486  and its companion drug are administered between the fifth and ninth weeks of pregnancy, after pregnancy has been confirmed and the process typically involves three trips to a doctor. About half of the women abort while at the doctor’s office, with another 26 percent having an abortion within the next 20 hours at any location at home or in public. The remainder either have an abortion in the coming weeks or none at all of the drug fails to work — making it so a surgical abortion is required.
Through April, the FDA reports 2,207 adverse events related to the use of RU 486, including 14 deaths, 612 hospitalizations, 58 ectopic pregnancies, 339 blood transfusions, and 256 cases of infections in the United States alone. A European drug manufacturer has publicly stated that 28 women have died worldwide after using RU 486/mifepristone."
So legislators you are fine with coerced abortions for women/girls....how pro choice is that?? And you are so entwined with the abortion industry that you are willing to sacrifice  the women to this dangerous drug??  Perhaps this brings new meaning to the Badger state...

Wausau Daily Herald and public library gets lesson on free speech and words that matter...

Since  I am from WI,  I watch the pro life news out of my home state. I noted  the issue of the Wausau public library that has public meeting rooms  which has previously been used to screen films by groups.

They decided to deny the local 40 Days for Life group the use of the room to screen the new movie  Blood Money. They stated they feared a civil disturbance.

After receiving a letter from the Thomas Moore Society representing 40 Days, they offered the group of a closed office off site!! What??? Thomas Moore Society and 40 Days were not impressed. This was  a suppression of free speech based on the alleged concern over the response of others.

Well the library officials  consulted with  their attorneys and did an about face.  The screening will be held. I looked for the write up of this by the local paper.... Wausau Daily Herald  .The reporter files the story with the headline Anti Abortion Group to Show Film and the lead paragraph states...

"A Wausau anti-abortion group will go forward with plans to show a controversial video on Sunday after county officials backed off cancellation of the event at the downtown Wausau library.'

So I dashed an email off to the reporter asking why she used the term anti abortion and not pro life and why all the negative terms when referring to the pro life viewpoints like showing a controversial film. I appreciate that she wrote me right back and told me the following:

"The Associated Press style book, which the Daily Herald uses as a guide for language in our reporting, recommends the terms "anti-abortion" and "abortion rights" when describing individuals or groups that take a position on this issue."
Well she is young and learning her trade and as I expected she was told to frame the issue accordingly. We all know that AP is hardly a credible source anyway and that words matter. Anytime you say "rights"  it gives a positive :) spin and saying something is anti puts a negative :( spin on it. Well, I thanked her for the honest and timely response to my concern. I had to smile as I wonder if her bosses would appreciate her being so forthright about this is the way they want us to say it. Almost like a gaffe in Washington.....definition of a gaffe is  when you accidentally tell the truth.

I hope everyone enjoys the screening in Wausau of Blood Money a pro life film that documents the truth.  Is the truth controversial???

The extra publicity will probably boost their attendance.

WI PP fund raiser...it's good to be bad either flops or lies.....

How I love this post from my home state... way to stick in their lying eyes..... (click to enlarge)

In response to Pro Life Wisconsin protesting PP Cecile Richards speaking at two fund raisers in Wisconsin , PP sent out this notice to supporters attempting to raise $5K in 24 hrs. Now it has been three months and Pro Life Wisconsin has yet to receive any note. Hmmm the fund raiser must not have gone well or all the notes got lost in the mail or maybe PP lied because the theme of the appeal is that it is good to be bad!
