The Commercial Appeal in Memphis which makes no secret of their advocacy for the abortion industry has an editorial in today using the term "fertilized egg" showing their ignorance of biology or their willingness to use inaccurate terms to advance their agenda.
They also don't mind repeating scare tactics and misinformation advanced by Planned Parenthood who are so desperate to defeat this that they using the resources of PP in other states. I have previously noted that Barry Chase, Memphis CEO of PP is a board member of Mississippians for Healthy Families along with an ACLU lawyer and another PP executive from another state.
Their despicable robo call put out implying that popular Gov Haley Barbour is opposed to the Personhood Amendment was personally denounced by him and he demanded that they cease. He has already voted for the amendment via the absentee ballot and made this public.
The Commercial Appeals put forth the inaccurate scare tactics of women dying from ectopic pregnancies, banning IVF etc. The advocacy of the CA is well known as well as their willingness to play fast and loose with the facts.

Memphis PP continues to whine via Commercial Appeal
This woman knows no shame. And why the Commercial Appeal to continue to use her to write op eds is a total mystery.
Wendi C. Thomas continues to shill for Planned Parenthood with an op ed decrying the loss of Title X funds to Christ Community Health Care ending with a plea straight from PP prez Barry Chase to donate $$ to PP giving them the website and to tell the county commissioners that you are upset and you vote .
She cries real tears because according to Barry Chase, the well paid, prez said that they had to do the following:
"Last week, Planned Parenthood was forced to put up this sign, in English and Spanish, in its waiting room:As one commenter said: What a novel idea...paying for services...
"Attention: Shelby County has currently refused to fund our patients for family planning healthcare, which includes birth control and medical services. Please see the front desk staff for the cost of your services. Payment is expected at time of service."
CCHS is supposed to take over in early November and PP is claiming that their Title X money is already gone so they are denying they are referring them early but putting up the sign is not really referring them according to Chase who said ..."they have television sets and read the newspaper so they know that CCHS beat out PP." Really?? Interesting concept for those who are unable to pay for their own bc services.
It is the Christ in Christ Community Health Services that so annoys Ms. Thomas. She has nothing good to say about those "evangelicals" who oppose abortion and thinks it is only a matter of time before their faith does not allow for them to violate the law and not refer for abortions.

Memphis PP sends out the alarm....people are praying.....
Memphis Planned Parenthood posts on Facebook......

www.plannedparenthood.org
The
picketers are here again, too. These protesters, organized by 40 Days
for Life, began picketing our Health Abortion Center this morning and will
continue through November 6th. These demonstrations are intended to
intimidate our patients and staff, and disrupt our much-needed services.
INTIMIDATION ALERT
I went over to the pictures of 40 Days for Life....a peaceful prayer vigil in the public sidewalk outside of Planned Parenthood. Shriek!! Intimidation, disruption at work!!

Memphis PP whine continues......
Whine alert!
Barry Chase of PP Memphis says ...IT'S JUST NOT FAIR .....from Commercial Appeal
"Planned Parenthood president and CEO Barry Chase complained about the process. "We just learned what the standards were for comparing the proposals this morning," he said Wednesday."Ummmm you did not know about standards or you are just not used to caring about standards??? Standards ??? Are we are supposed to have standards???
In a written statement, Planned Parenthood said it is better equipped for the task than is Christ Community. "This change disrupts the lives of the many women and girls who understand that at (Planned Parenthood) they will receive unbiased, accurate, nonjudgmental, nonreligious health care," the statement reads. So you don't like people of faith providing care for people even though they do not proselytize?
Christ Community is a Memphis-based organization that operates six medical clinics, a mobile clinic for the homeless and three dental clinics.PP has one facility......but hey they are better prepared????
CEO Burt Waller said the organization is nondenominational. "Everyone who we encounter, we want to experience the love, compassion, grace and mercy that Christ exhibited. That doesn't mean we expect them to believe what we believe."Love, compassion, grace and mercy....gosh who would want that ??? At PP a minor can get thrown under the bus by sexual predators with cash!! Perhaps Christ Community might actually obey the law!! What a novel approach!!!
He said the group already offers family planning.

TN:Shelby Co. Health Dir. shouldn't get to choose her assignments

Later when discussing the distribution of family planning monies, she responded to a question posed by Senator Campfield who wanted the funds to be administered by her dept. instead of Planned Parenthood . He asked if the Health Dept. had a legal obligation to provide these services. Ms. Madlock replied.....
" Yes, it would be legal for this health department not to provide family planning services,"She does not hide her animosity at having a project that enjoyed strong funding for the past five years cut and being told that she now is responsible for administering a program with funding for a project she preferred to outsource. Is this why she is resisting providing this service unlike all other 94 counties in TN ? She continues to insist she will do it on a month to month basis and refuses to rule out outsourcing it to Planned Parenthood.
"But our mandate is also a mandate to protect the health of the community and protect the least of those in our community," Madlock said, before playing the city's health trump card: infant mortality rates that best those of many developing nations.
"Preventing unwanted pregnancies, allowing families to space their pregnancies, allows us to better control our infant mortality rate."
Ms. Madlock needs to live in the real world where we do our jobs and get over our disappointment when our preferred projects are not funded and assignments are not of our choosing.
Yet Madlock continues to strong arm her superiors showing a strong loyalty to Planned Parenthood.
"Though both she and Planned Parenthood’s Shelby County director, Barry Chase, said on Friday there had been no direct communications between them for several weeks, the bottom line seemed to be that, as Madlock said last week, Planned Parenthood continued to be on her list of hypothetical family service partners."I encourage Ms. Madlock to look at Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga and than to remind her of the above quote about the mandate of protecting the health of the community that employs her.

Memphis Commercial Appeal: Republicans wanting to send tax $$ to health dept. instead of PP want to duct tape women's legs together!!
Wendi C. Thomas writes a column for the liberal Commercial Appeal that is so ridiculous that many readers spoke for me when they questioned how this could ever make it into print even in the Commercial Appeal.
She rails about the state legislature wanting to send Title X monies to the county health dept. instead of her pal Planned Parenthood. She goes on to suggest Republicans in control want to duct tape women's legs together as a form of birth control. She is hysterical that the infamous Planned Parenthood of Memphis ( remember them starring in the sting operation of Live Action covering up statutory rape) might be robbed of a quarter of their $3MM annual budget.
The abortion friendly health dept. says they cannot handle another anyone sending them $750,000....they don't have the capacity. Shelby county is known for the high rate of teen pregnancies, STI's and infant mortality rate. Still the county's health dept. thinks it a good idea to outsource this $$ to an organization that shows nothing but failure.
Her hysterical rant did not impress the readers of the CA as most of the comments took her to task. One letter from a reader sums it up well. Why keep sending tax money to a failed program? Isn't that the definition of insanity...
Letter to the Editor:
Wendi C. Thomas uses her May 8 column to carp about those of us who would like to see Planned Parenthood defunded.
So how is it that after the millions of tax dollars Planned Parenthood has collected in the last 50 years, the millions of dollars it has spent in so-called health care services, the millions of women it has "served," nothing ever gets better?
In Memphis, STDs are still out of control, unplanned pregnancy is epidemic and the infant mortality problem "bests those of many developing nations." Planned Parenthood has obviously failed at what it says its purposes are. Its programs have failed miserably for those it "serves," but its programs have certainly been successful in lining Planned Parenthood's pockets.
Indeed, all their efforts have accomplished is a guarantee of their part of the 9,000-plus abortions that happen in Shelby County every year with the fees they represent and more millions to them at the taxpayers' expense.
Yet every time they are in jeopardy of losing a cent of public money, Planned Parenthood screams that without them all hell will break loose. "Hundreds of women will be turned away." STDs and HIV will spin out of control! Women will be forced to have 10 babies before they are 30 years old! Teenagers won't be able to get "protection" so they won't get pregnant! Really?
We can do without Planned Parenthood entirely. Many local Christian-based health care providers offer STD testing and treatment, help in preventing unplanned pregnancy, and give prenatal care to prevent infant mortality, along with many other women's health care services. They do it at no cost to the patient and without expecting taxpayers who don't agree with them to pay up anyway. They do everything Planned Parenthood does except abortions.
No matter what Thomas says, that is really what it is all about. Protecting abortion.
Planned Parenthood's failure is all around us. Enough already.

Memphis PP CEO bemoans the possible loss of TN tax $$....ignores the A word and forgets the recent sting video from Live Action...
Memphis Flyer posts an op ed by Barry Chase CEO of Memphis PP... who is so concerned that Title X money in Memphis may go to the public health departments and end his cozy deal for all these years. Last year the General Assembly ended the preferential treatment of PP saying they cannot automatically get a cool 1 MM of TN tax dollars into their coffers. They have to compete for the money along with other venues such a county health departments. Of course in two metropolitan areas, Nashville and Memphis, their alliance with PP has caused them to bow out of the business but that may change.
Of course his op ed never mentions that A word and of course does not refer to the embarrasing undercover sting opereation showing a staffer in his venable PP clinic covering up sex abuse of a minor and advising a girl posing as underage how to circumvent the parental notification law and cover up for her "cash up front" much older man who impregnanted her. This is a violation of the law to report sex abuse of minors. So this worthy organization can certainly be trusted to keep immaculate records nd make sure the invisible firewall between tax money and abortion money is kept separate. They hire and pay the staff with benefits and rent etc with fungible money. The same hand that hands out birth control pills is the same hand that assists and/or performs abortions and mammograms. Wait... sorry wrong....PP does not do mammograms, do they? Someone needs to tell the president of PP to stop saying that. How embarrassing when the national President of PP goes on national TV to state this "misinformation."
SSSSUUUURRRREEEE... and the auditing of this takes place??? Not on your life. Say isn't this the same PP that was caught aiding and abetting sex abuse of minors??? Well, yes it is....PP is the nation's largest abortion chain. Title X money belongs in county health depts and by the way they do mammograms. If you place is so wonderful use private money raised by true believers.

"And to be very clear, long-standing federal law prohibits the use of any of these funds for abortion services either directly or indirectly."

Memphis: teen pregnancy rate twice the national average but $$ flows for same old programs .
Talk about a target rich environment for Planned Parenthood ! Memphis now has the distinction of having a teen pregnancy rate that fluctuates between 15 and 20 percent, twice the national average and in one high school in Memphis the per cent is up to 26%. This would be Frayser HS in North Memphis where is a Title One School meaning that 100% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Most are headed by single female parent.
At this point the only answer offered seems to be to do the same thing with more money thrown in ( like a $250,000 advertising program ) and hope/expect different results. Isn't that the definition of insanity? Just add more comprehensive sex ed, birth control hand outs and hope for the best. Add to that the Planned Parenthood sites like Take Care Down There that is as close to porn as you can get. Add that to PP counselors advising a girl posing as a minor pregnant by a much older man wanting an abortion without her parents knowledge to lie in order to get a judicial bypass for permission for an abortion and this result is predictable. I post t his video to remind you it is high time to defund Planned Parenthood. They have had their way in Memphis long enough. Why continue to fund failed programs?

Memphis PP Holiday greeting and fund solicitation wants to make a difference in someone's life
For sure...it will make a difference in somebody's life as in end it! Remember dear PP of Greater Memphis from Lila Rose and Live Action . Remember how they exposed a counselor advising a girl posing as an underage and pregnant by a much older man to lie about his age to get approval for an abortion and bypass the parental notification law.- not to mention that they were covering for someone who should have been reported by law as a sexual abuser. But let's not spoil the holiday message with the facts...just contribute to change someone's life.
