Left's New Hero...Lucy Flores discloses abortion with no regrets

Lucy Flores

There might be a challenge to Wendy Davis' claim to fame as the darling of the left, a.k.a abortion Barbie. She may have stood and filibustered for  infanticide; but now may be outdone by what the left is calling their new hero .  Lucy Flores, who not only talked the talk  about supporting abortion, she walked the walk and had one.

Flores (D) running for Lt. Governor of NV has a resume of overcoming many obstacles...growing up poor, one of 13 children, high school drop out, doing  time in prison, getting  an ankle tattoo and oh yeah...an abortion.

According to Salon, the closest they had  to disclosing an abortion was Rep. Jackie Speier (D) CA.  Hers was not an abortion, as they like to call it, but a miscarriage at 17 weeks. Now they have a young, attractive Hispanic woman who discloses an abortion at age 16, AND, here is the icing on the cake , says she has no regrets. But I note that the articles about it describe her disclosure the same way as abortion supporting Slate.

"Her eyes welled up and her voice caught as she described how she’d convinced her father to pay the $200 cost for the procedure."
Does that sound like some regret? She reports that all six sisters got pregnant as teens and she did not want to be like them. She is  just like them, except they chose life. She disclosed this in 2012, as she was championing for more  sex ed. We have had sex ed is schools in schools for years along with biology classes!  Did they really not know how pregnancy occurred and did  anyone ever consider the other A word...abstinence.

But that may be another matter, back to the new hero threatening Davis. This was truly an elective abortion, forget that she was a minor, she knew what she wanted and that was no baby and heck yeah...she did it with the help of her father's finances. Now... if she can repeat the tale without the eyes welling up and the catch in her voice, she will be PERFECT!!!

This is what the abortion supporting crowd wants and needs to counter all those pesky women and men  from post abortion ministries like Rachel's Vineyard, Silent No More and Save One ,  who stand with their placards that say...I regret my abortion. Ask me about it.  Powerful testimonies....

Abortion supporters are hoping that Flores is the first of many. As the Salon article states...

"If pro-choice lawmakers want to regain control of the abortion debate, they may have to get personal."
"Lucy Flores was willing to step up. Who’s next?"

Salon writer celebrates her freedoms but leaves a stone of truth in her subconscious shoe....

I was writing my semi weekly bit for Jill Stanek, Pro Life Blog Buzz and this story stayed with me.

Salon is a liberal artsy type of place where bloggers pretend they are some kind of artist when they blog about their sex life. In this piece a self obsessed woman tells the tale of meeting a younger man boy at a Passover celebration. At first she does not find him at all attractive but in a subsequent meeting at her apt. they sit on her bed to have a conversation and this leads to kissing and no surprise to sex.  There wasn't much going on in her life at the time so she says...why not. Then they indulge in a series of no strings attached sexual trysts where they both focus on their own needs. No mention of bc...so no surprise when  pregnancy appears.

Shriek....she takes prenatal vitamins as she goes to the doctor to confirm what the drug store tests says....comments that her skin is clear and her body is responding favorably thus far. But alas, the dr. brings her back to reality with his comment that he knows she will do the sensible thing.

Her hippie friend says....hey, I will get pregnant too and we will move to a commune and raise our kids together but the bed partner shares a bowl of ice cream with her and says he is not into this. Truth peaks through this piece that is meant to celebrate the choice of abortion to fix the pbl started with sitting on the bed .....
"Our baby was the size of a lentil, with a poppy-seed heart that beat 167 times per minute, twice the rate of mine. It had veins, brainwaves, arm and leg buds. I was becoming a nicer person. I was nauseous all of the time. The doctor said my uterus was roughly the size of a lemon. There were rational things to consider and then there was the surprising passion of life. There were logistics and then there were miracles. Who could help me to know?"
She picks the time of Passover to abort...the abortionist assures her that it was just a blob but she remarks, but it had a heart beat. She then goes onto celebrate Passover and remarks...
"Passover, festival of freedom, slaying of the first-born--these ides swam through my thoughts as I regained my regular body and hormone levels. I felt lucky to live in a place and at a time when I could make decisions about the destiny of my own life and about whom I would couple with-and when and why. I ate bowls of red beet brosht, globs of fuchsia horseradish on thick slices of gefilte fish. The festival of freedom. Moses in his basket, saved on a river that would soon become blood. "
Some time  later she runs into the same man boy and they go to lunch together and  split the bill.
Truth peeks out doesn't it??  She may blog and get her piece in the Salon but there is a stone in her shoe now.

Pro abortion story where the truth peeks out......

Pro abortion website Salon shares a life story about abortion and its aftermath where the truth peeks out.... in the personal stories section this lady shares her personal abortion story as the new memoir "The Rules of Inheritance,"

Here is the short version....mother dies when she is 18....she is devastated....at 19 she gets pregnant from a casual affair....and has  an abortion. Notice her feelings when she does birth a child.

"It won’t be until over a decade later, when I am well into the actual world of parenthood, frazzled and overwhelmed with love and impatience for the tiny creature I have created, that I will realize that if I had actually had a baby at age nineteen it might have been the very thing that would have kept me from the years and years of misery and destruction ahead of me.
It won’t be until I am finally a mother myself, and not until my cheek rests against my child’s soft downy head, that I will realize the bleakness of what I did all those years before."

Abortion profiteer aborts one child and adopts another....

Fascinating article in Salon from a profiteer of abortion.... she is proud of her material benefits and staunchly defends abortion rights with some amazing comments.
Recently, Merle Hoffman gave a copy of her forthcoming memoir, “Intimate Wars,” to Sister Dorothy, a regular protester stationed outside Choices, the Queens, N.Y., abortion clinic that Hoffman founded.
You know, it’s so honest,” Sister Dorothy told Hoffman after reading it, “but sometimes Satan cloaks himself in truth.”
She denounces the pro choice movement for their timidity....

The problem is that the pro-choice movement is uncomfortable with itself. I’ve always said that, and I’ve always believed that,” she says. “We’re not comfortable with the banner we’re under,” meaning that abortion is still largely a taboo even among pro-choice women. Part of the problem is that the natural constituency of pro-choice values is still largely silent. “You know how many women have had abortions?” Hoffman says. “Abortion is as American as apple pie. I think it’s one in three. But we’ll go on TV and say, ‘I just had my tits done or had a bikini wax,’ but not had an abortion. If you could see that constituency rise up at one point in time — but they don’t, because there’s this cloud.”
She has convinced herself that society hates abortion because they are anti woman.  As she sees it, [the] " act of abortion positions women at their most powerful..."  Wow....is she really meaning that the act of killing gives woman power? Probably,  since Roe Vs. Wade basically says that a woman has dominion over the life in the womb. To live or die....such power and power can be a strong aphrodisiac.
She also writes about her own abortion, which occurred after she’d been running the clinic for several years, in similar terms. “With my choice I was fighting for the right of all women to define abortion as an act of love: love for the family one already has, and just as important, love for oneself. I was fighting to reclaim abortion as a mother’s act. It was an act of solidarity as significant as any other I had committed.” Years later, after the death of her husband, she adopted a daughter from Russia.

Talk about schizophrenic thinking....she aborts one child and adopts another and calls the abortion which she acknowledges" stops a beating heart" an act of love.  I think Sister Dorothy comment is spot on.
“but sometimes Satan cloaks himself in truth.”

I have a feeling that Sister Dorothy's  persistent prayerful presence may be the catalyst for this woman to come out of the industry much like Abby Johnson and others.
